The Christmas day unis/ Miami Heat "Back in Black" unis/ Toronto Military Day unis.
At least, that's my theory. A lot of guys didn't know the unis were already on the disc, and could be downloaded before today lol. They list it on the update list as unlocked. So for most players, they got new unis for free. But we already knew they were there and probably already had them.Comment

Apparently the Christmas surprise was that they wouldn't have the rosters completed AND NBA Today wouldn't be working for the opening day marque matchups. This I definitely didn't expect. No Mavs championship celebration. No Bulls vs. Lakers. No Warriors vs. Clippers and being able to replay the game I was actually at. What the heck is going on over there at 2K?Comment

This is part of the reason it might be better for them to not try to do out-of-the-ordinary things; some fans aren't going to account for this being an unusual situation. You wouldn't expect there might be hiccups given the situation? For me NBA Today wasn't up early in the day, was working as expected during the day, then wasn't reflecting the games properly later in the day. I think it was Friday or Saturday I played a NBA Today Mavs game and saw the championship celebration; was going to post in the Little Things thread. And that was just a random NBA Today game where I happened to choose the Mavs at home.
Either way, it could be argued it's part of the reason they shouldn't have pushed to do so many roster updates and did one big comprehensive roster. And why they shouldn't have attempted to have the abbreviated NBA schedule reflected in NBA Today. I don't think that way myself, it's just they're going to catch it from all sides when things don't work seamlessly.HBO's "The Wire" should rank as one of the top 10 shows EVER on tv - period

I think they should acknowledge when they run into roadblocks because of special circumstances like the holidays or the lockout. I don't think having second rounders would have been that difficult. It seems like they were afraid of doing wasted work for the few second rounders that wouldn't get contracts and ended up doing none at all and failing to deliver complete rosters on opening day (even though many second rounders had guaranteed contracts for awhile now).
I do understand we have a special situation this year and I think most of us would be understanding if they explained what they were up against, but what they shouldn't be doing is posting hype about their devotion and missed holidays and then fail to deliver-- like posting the article that prompted this entire thread. It's either been silence, unsatisfyingly worded reasons, or unfulfilled hype this year from 2k.Comment
