Why is the paint always crowded?

It seems, for me anyway, that the paint is always crowded with people making it extremely hard to go for anything other than jumpshots and 3s. I've heard some people on this board explain how the spacing seems to be better on the ps3, whereas on the xbox the paint seems constantly congested. Of course this is easily nullified by calling isolations to drive, but still it seems like the spread of players needs tweaking. Anyone else notice this issue and anyone know of any fix?

that's usually how it is in real life. the paint is close to the basket, and players want to be around the basket hence the crowded paint area. why do you think it's so vital for teams to have players that can penetrate into the paint? why do you think players that can penetrate into the paint are commodities?

I don't mind the paint crowded but when 5 guys go for a rebound instead of my point guard leaking out a little bit to catch and push the ball up court doesn't make me happy.

            depends on coaching settings

change your coaching preferences and increase your fast break so your players leak? maybe that'd help. i'd rather have all 5 of my guys rebound than give up offensive rebounds

I think it actually makes the game too easy when all five cpu defenders suck in towards the paint on dribble penetration. It makes it very easy to kick out for wide-open threes and very difficult to get all the way to the rim with guards. So I just settle for threes all day and destroy the cpu from outside. I'd rather not, but it's what they give me. I'd rather see one or two defenders intelligently rotate off their perimeter check for the sake of balance and realism; all five guys collapsing is easy mode.
