Nottingham spurns the NFL to return to The Farm

PALO ALTO, CA - Stanford is already losing several crucial, crucial players from their squad for 2014. But it could've been much, much worse.

Four very significant juniors - QB Brett Nottingham, FS Wayne Lyons, DE Charlie Hopkins, and WR Ty Montgomery - all flirted with the possibility of leaving Stanford early for the NFL. But Nottingham quickly decided he was going to return, and from there, the dominoes fell, and all four will be back in 2014 for their senior seasons.

"I thought about it for a bit," Nottingham said. "But ultimately, the decision to return was easy. Going 12-1 and winning the Orange Bowl is great, obviously. But we've got unfinished business. We were so close to getting to the National Championship Game this year, that's a goal that's still out there, so I'm coming back to lead us there."
