The upgrade is complete, but you've probably noticed the forums are only showing posts up to about April 8. Posts made after that are still in the process of being moved over, and that should take another week or two. Feel free to start a new thread.
The site might feel a little slow while work continues. Engineers are staying on it through the night to get things moving faster again. Thanks for your patience.
Re: MLB 12 The Show Video - Pulse Pitching, Zone Analog Batting, Broadcast Presentati
I plan on watching at least one more time to try to catch some of the smaller details, but the new camera cuts between pitches immediately jumped out at me. It really adds some life to the game. I dig it.
Re: MLB 12 The Show Video - Pulse Pitching, Zone Analog Batting, Broadcast Presentati
The video looks good, and I'm looking forward to the game, but...
Not only is "Generic 1" pitching animation still in the game (WHY?) but both pitchers were using it.
I know it's probably just a placeholder on an early build for those pitchers, but I was really hoping that awkward, old-fashioned animation would be gone completely, or at least no longer the default one for pitchers that don't have one assigned to them.
Re: MLB 12 The Show Video - Pulse Pitching, Zone Analog Batting, Broadcast Presentati
I really like the new pitching method. It's what I've wanted from this game almost to a tee, so I'm defiantly going to be using it. I'll try the new analogue stick method, but I was hoping that it would be a bit more like PYS than the circle that we have now.
The cutscenes look great, the game looks like it flows well, and SCEA might be getting another $60 from me this year.

Wow...really liking what im seeing. Love the true broadcast feel as well as pulse pitching. I didn't think I was going to try pulse pitching but I think im going to give it a fair try. I also like the way the ball came off of Howards bat towards the end of the video...i can see the new ball physics.
also, i love that they are further tweaking batting stances. some of them last year were so far off that i edited almost everybody's, including players with their own "signature" stance. rolen and bruce's are looking much better.

Hmm, Russ is a closet REDS fan I see...well, WAS I came away TOTALLY impressed from what I saw just now. As usual, The SCEA team delivers again. Props fellaz
I thought they added fielders closing their gloves when making catches. Didn't see it in the video, instead I saw the catcher leave his glove open when receiving the pitch lol. Also, Cliff Lee looks crosseyed. But that was more humorous than anything.

Loving the presentation. The replay screenwipes looks so much more 'broadcast authentic.' The cutscenes in between pitches looks great and seems to be a more polished, refined version of another game that had them back in 2009. The flash is still there though at certain points which is very disappointing IMO.
Not a fan of the new pitching. Seems more like a gimmick. But heck, at least SCEA are not forcing us to use this as the only mode. Can't wait till we get some better vids with a look at a newer version of the game.

Hmm, I wonder if the pulse effect, w/ pulse overlay off work on classic pitching too? I can't see how that would work now that i think about it...unless by dual shock maybe
