Re: MLB 12 The Show Video - Pulse Pitching, Zone Analog Batting, Broadcast Presentati

I like what Iยดm seeing out of these videos...a lot at that!

However, I also am not a big fan of the pulsating circle and its size, but I think I know why it is THAT big (correct me if Iยดm wrong):

If I remeber correctly, youยดre supposed to press the pitch button when the circle is at its smallest size in order to get the highest possible accuracy. The size of the circle varies from pitcher to pitcher and their ability. Therefor a bigger sized circle just gives more variety where the pitch will actually be located in comparison to where it was intended to be located.

And that is actually a very good thing imo !

...Oh god, I hope so much that I am right ...!

Being a classic pitch guy since mlb06, ill give it a shot at pulse pitching, sounds interesting enough for me, just about the amount of user input im willing to use(like classic pitching).

Hi Ramone, first of all: I already love this game and can't wait to get a copy. The new cut scenes alone make this game a must-buy for any serious baseball fan and gamer!

I don't know if this has already been mentioned, but when the in-game overlays pop up, it says for example: "CHASE UTLEY ... 2010: .259 AVG 11 HR 44 RBI". Shouldn't it be "2011"?

I will stick with the pitching meter as always. The pulse pitching meter looks distracting, not to mention makes the game look like an arcade game.

At least with whatever this diamond dynasty mode is the developers did not rush it into 11 and are making sure they release it when they feel it will be more beneficial to the customers. Unlike another sports company that released their new mode bare bones with no options.

This was an extremely early build (intended to show off other areas).....they obviously won't leave 2010 on the game once it's ready for launch.

Re: MLB 12 The Show Video - Pulse Pitching, Zone Analog Batting, Broadcast Presentati

Even though I am very critical of certain aspects of presentation I am more than delighted about all these new things. Last year I did not play much because to me it was not worth it. (played all the time with a friend who I force to buy it every year)

But this year is looking very very authoritative. Ball physics are going to make this a beautiful game to watch imo. Sure, we can always use more animations but they look to have that covered fairly well too. All I can see adding is more interactive and special little touches to the stadiums and players presentation wise.

Also, that pulse pitching thing was, eh, discomforting lol but I am sure they will touch it up. No way I am using it, though.

No doubt the PS4 is going to make this game UBER! I can already see this game blown up on my 42 inch local dimmer on just the PS3. Now I just need the Twins to do something about their pitching. Can these devs fix that already, GEEZ!

Really looking forward to the Broadcast presentation. This part of the game has become stale over the last couple of years.

One thing to keep in mind. Most of the presentations go in near end of development. This is still an early build with already noticeable changes.

                  Exciting!

i dont like how the pulse is animated either.

i do kind of like the concept of having YOU involved with the timing to achieve pitch accuracy pitch after pitch, and the concept of the easiness to make the good timing or the difficulty of it, due to factors like pitcher talent and / or confidence / fatigue etc are fine and understandable. just would rather see something else designed. any ergonomic or interface designers ?

Over 50% of it is in the builds I took with me to CES.

It's not an extremely early build but those bugs will be ironed out before launch. I'm not sure if we have had our big stats update yet.

                            nice.
the new batter walk up OSD looked sweet and classy.

hoping to see some more stat love in future vids.

one thing i dont like is the sudden cuts from the between pitch scenes going back to real time.
i thought it was going to be just camera cuts cutting away to what the guy was actually doing.

Will there be a toggle for actually being able to use the Analog Zone Hitting, but for the yellow see-through icon depicting it to be non-visible?

I love the idea of the Tru-Zone hitting, but I am not sure I am thrilled with having to look at it. Can we shut the visual aspect of it off?
