Online pass isn't tied to Gamertag?

So my 360 died the other day after 5 years... so I go out and put $299.99 down... only to find out that I'll have to put another $15.00 down to buy the online pass??

WTH? Is this real life? I had no problem doing this with NHL 12, only NCAA is screwing me over?

Do I really have to pay?

Shouldn't need to. Try signing in and out or rebooting NCAA.

You might have to transfer the license to your new console... Just a guess

No it's tied to the console. I brought my HD to my mother in laws to play my OD game and it wouldn't let me. I had to use a free trial. It's console based, I don't see how else it could shut me down

Now that I think of it you're right. It was like a 108KB download.

There's got to be a way to transfer it

just go to your download history and redownload it.

I believe most content on 360 is tied to your live account and the first console you download/installed it on. you can transfer the license over to another console at the xbox.com website. you should be able to use any content that your account bought/downloaded as long as you are signed into Xbox Live no matter what console the hard drive is connected to. offline it might not work.

although the EA Online Pass could be different, as it also goes through the EA accounts.

It is. Read above. I used my hard drive on a different Xbox and could not use online features. It's tied to the console. Which I think is terrible.

Solidice is on the money, it is tied to your XBL account.

No. I put my hard drive, with my GT and every item I've ever downloaded, onto a different Xbox and was prompted to purchase the online pass again

Well WTH! I've got two xboxs in my apartment. I'll have to test it out, because it totally didn't work. And that was literally my hard drive. There was no change other than the console.

Did the persons Xbox you used have an online pass?

no, my brother doesn't play sports games and doesn't even own any EA games on 360 other than Battlefield 3. I just took my Hard drive from mine and put it in his 360.

It doesn't work if you just hotswap the HDD, you have to re-download the pass from your download history. I've done it before, I use it to play at my In-Laws' house when I'm over there.
Bills, Sabres, Illini, Cubs, basically any team that abuses its fanbase and I'm there.
