Where do you score your points from?

The paint? Mid-range? 3-pt. land?

I tend to play with teams that have a good low-post presence, so I typically will have 30-plus points in the paint, with the rest spread out between foul shots, mid-range and a few 3-pointers.

For those that tend to be more perimeter-based, do you get those points off of running plays or just freestyling? I'd like to hear your thoughts, as I'm looking to use a team that doesn't have a strong low-post presence, so I'll need to get my points from the outside.

For me, I like to run a lot of plays for my star players to get open for mid range shots and 3 pointers. If they dont get open during the play then my next option is to drive. If I cant get an open lay up or dunk then I pass it out to the open player and do isolation to try to get a shot. Usually I call plays though for the hot hand so it isnt always the star. I have been having some really good games doing this so far. Im running a Pacers franchise and its pretty realistic scoring. My record is 5-6 and I dont feel like Im being cheated when I lose. Its usually because my players are just cold from the field.

I generally like to get a team with good shooters and set plays where they get open from midrange a lot but if there is a clear lane to the hoop I'm gonna take it.

I tend to favor teams with a good low-post presence as well, and I like to open up the mid-range and 3PT game by scoring from the paint until the defense starts doubling or bringing help. If I'm trying to score from the perimeter without scoring from the post first, then I need someone who can drive and beat his man off the dribble until the defense adjusts.

My strategy consists of both play calling and freestyling, but even when I'm doing the latter, I always make sure to call for a pick or use one of the quick plays, to organize my offense.

Paint and mid range.. I'm shooting 3's only when I need it or when somebody is open.

Whatever the defense gives me.

Focus on getting players going early on and the rest opens up from there.

The paint early. I've seen that scoring in the paint will cause the D to lock it down and open up the court for some mid range and 3s later in the game. Of coarse though when all else fails it's read the D and react to where there defending the most.

i find it really hard to NOT score in the paint. i play as the wizards right now and my best player (WALL) can't make a shot more than five feet from the basket. i think i had something like 86 pts. in the paint out of 115 total. couldn't shoot to save my life that game.

but as my season is progressing and i get more comfortable with my other guys, im starting to hit the mid range shot fairly well. Blatche is pretty good with the face-up shot about 10-15 feet out.

i find the game is much more fun when you can get shots to drop from all over rather than having to depend on the paint...or 3.

I attack the paint pretty aggressively, looking for fouls as often as I can. Then when the defense wises up, I start looking for nice mid-range shots and 3pointers.

Everywhere, I have a all around game..EVERYONE touches the ball and is likable to take shot. My last online game Freddy Garcia was the top scorer lol. He didnt want to guard him so i fed him the ball. Reke had about 15 assist lol

The paint. I tend to play with a team that doesn't have a lot of great shooters (Sacremento Kings) so I tend to drive to the basket a lot with Reke and Thornton. Then I'd dump it to either Cousins or Hickson in the post. Hickson has a killer spin move and Cousins just has a great all around post game with his ability to do fades and shimmy's.

So...around 40-50 points will be coming in the paint for me with about 10 from FT, 15-30 from 3pt, and 10-20 from mid range (Using Reke's post game and Thonrton's pullups.)

I play freestyle much more than with plays. Its just more fun for me to create. A great thing about the game this year is that every game seems different. Some games I score primarily in the paint, some on jumpers. Some games have a good numbers of fast breaks, some are grind-it-out. Since the passing has improve post-patch its been fun finding cutters and open shooters the D sags off of.

Pick and rolls are great if the offense gets stagnant. You may not hit the roller, but many times you're open or someone else is. If nothing is available I hold the ball, and the PnR created movement in the offense and some other opportunity will present itself.

How do you get pick and rolls this year Slava if you don't call plays as much?

The Pick and Roll using Left Bumper/L1 doesn't work well this year in having the person who set the pick roll consistently.

I've had to abandon PnR's this year or force them and they look very unnatural. Again, outside of a set play.

I aim for Guards to drive into the lane and look for open men or finish strong. I'll avoid jump shots or 3's unless they're wide open.
