Missouri Tigers rout Cowboys 62-16
Missouri has played 3 top 5 teams this year. Well at the time top 5, but all top 10 currently. They beat then #4 (#7) LSU 36-3, #4 (#8) Wisconsin 64-18, and now #5 Oklahoma State also went down.
The game started off promising, as Oklahoma State's defense came to play, preventing D. Steele from gaining anything on the ground which allowed the Cowboys to key in on the pass.
With Missouri ahead 3-0, J. Walsh was sacked on a 3rd and 10, which set up 4th and 17, and also put Walsh out of the game for a few moments. Missouri keyed in on the good field position and A. Harrell caught a 5 yard pass from N. Bailey to make it 10-0.
D. Steele ran it in to make it 17-0 early in the second quarter, but J. Walsh scrambled 1 yard to make it a 17-7 game. The touchdown was in doubt, as Walsh fumbled before he broke the endzone plane, but the call of the field stood and Oklahoma State broke the shutout just like Oklahoma did last week, very questionably.
Missouri fans are questioning the referees lately
Missouri poured it on after the questionable call, putting Walsh out until the half and opening up a 31-7 lead. They traded field goals in the third quarter, and the fourth quarter started with the Tigers up 34-10, a good lead but an Oklahoma State comeback seemed possible.
Bentley or Walsh, didn't matter. The Tigers were all over them all day
Missouri ran off 28 straight points in the fourth quarter, turning a 34-16 game into a 62-16 beatdown.
Caldwell collected his 1st career interception in the fourth quarter
Missouri POTG: N. Bailey 34 of 47 for 416 yards, 2 TD, 1 INT
D. Steele 39 carries for 236 yards and 4 TD
M. Wilson had 9 tackles and 1 sack
T. Leach had 8 tackles, 2 sacks, and 1 FF
J. George had 6 tackles, 6 solo, 1 FF, and 1 interception
