Looked good from my seat. Kinsler looks better (still doesn't have much of his curly hair) and Holland has the Dutchstashe. The ball physics and glove work look a lot better too.

You can really see how Derrek Holland's glove closes when he recieves the throw back. BEAUTIFULComment

SCEA doesn't try to reinvent the wheel every year. It's baseball. They build on the solid foundations they laid the year before.
The ball physics and swings are noticeably different from last year.
The guys saying it's the same as last year are watching with bias in my opinon.Comment

Well, the commentary still sounds totally lifeless and disconnected. That's a serious shame seeing as how much presentation has been touted recently and the crowds are still so artificial and juiced. Crowds don't "GASP" & "BOO" base hits by the opposing team, c'mon... lol.
On the plus side, the cutaways are fantastic.Last edited by sandmac; 01-18-2012, 07:38 PM.Comment

I love this game and still play '11 on a regular basis. That being said, I'm still in the early stages on whether or not to spend another 60 bones on this game. I may decide just to keep and play '11. SCEA has done a super job and there is just not that much that can be improved upon in the game play department, imo of course.
I watched the video and while it is great I didn't see that much of a difference from it and what I have in "11. An early build? Most likely but..........
Will wait and see, it's still early, but right now I'm not sure if I would spend the money on the upgrades I've seen so far.Originally posted by ImTellinTimIf I lived in Waco, I would find you and kick you right in the nuts.Comment

I disagree... new camera cuts, better pitching throwing motions, much improved ball physics and bat sounds... and the video cuts out before we can see the new presentation between innings.
Also, I LOVE the new batting angle and slowed down pitch speed.Comment

Am I the only one who SHUTS off commentary! When you are batting in real life you are not listening to these people. It always bugs me lol! I for one am loving the look of this game. Great job animation department!Comment

Re: MLB 12: The Show Angels vs. Rangers (Cam) - via. Gametrailers
i am fearful of this being the case as well, tho I will wait to see the blog on this and some later vids to see how the commentary shakes out. This was a 50% presentation complete build according to Russell.
as far as this video tho, hard to tell because it didnt lend itself to being a good opportunity to see what the new commentary has to offer.
franchise is where that will show.Comment

What do you people want with commentary? Even if they added a thousand new lines, they would still say the same things over and over again. There is a finite amount of things they can say in the game; this isn't real life.
Not buying a game because there was no new commentary? Give me a break...Rangers - Cowboys - Aggies - Stars - Mavericks

I am pretty sure sound guys are tweaking this stuff till the last moment. Sound is not as easy as some people think it is. I know other guys have better commentary but they have started new and built up recently where as this game has been hanging on.
Doesn't bother me but I can see why some are concerned.Comment

No, I also turn off the commentators. No matter what sports game I play they always get repetitive and I like to feel like I'm on the field.Comment

Re: MLB 12: The Show Angels vs. Rangers (Cam) - via. Gametrailers
I'm in the same boat, I love SCEA and what they do, but this one seems a little too much like the year before. We already got word franchise was going to be relatively the same, I have yet to see any additional stat overlays, and the commentary is pretty much the same. Unfortunately, this might be a pass for me unless I see some more enhancements. I know we have that new Diamond game, but I'm a straight up franchise player and would love to start doing a MOM whenever they give that an overhaul, been a couple years long overdo.I love this game and still play '11 on a regular basis.
