    Tigers franchise for 2012

If I wasn't already on the edge of my seat waiting for MLB The Show 2012, now that the tigers just signed Prince Fielder the wait just got even more difficult.

I always use the Tigers, but I'm wondering if anyone who normally doesn't use them will have a change of heart now that we got Fielder. I can't freaking wait!!!

As an ardent Tiger fan im gobsmacked by this...in a good way.

Cabrera and Fielder, thats a ridiculous 1-2 punch in the middle of the order, i would guess Prince will split time at 1st and DH with Cabby, add in Boesch, Young, Avila, Peralta and a returning V-Mart and no-one is going to want to pitch to that murderers row.

As for The Show 12, well im always my home team but this just makes the wait even more exciting.

    Colour me totally stunned!

This will sound bad but maybe V-mart getting hurt was a blessing, if he doesnt get hurt I dont think they go after fielder. When V-mart comes back watch out!

They really added a major piece today, what a coup for the Tigers.

However, championships aren't won on paper, can you say 2008?

Every year I have a Tigers franchise. I was dissapointed that VMart would probably miss the entire season. Now, I am can't wait for the season to start so I can play with Miggy and Prince.

Lol I just updated my roster, beat up on Kuroda. Prince is already 2-2 with a HR and a double thru 5 innings.

                    EDIT: Make that 3-4 2 HR, 2B

As a true Tigers fanatic, my concern is that now everyone will want to use them online. I was bummed about V-Mart, but I quickly forgot on this news. Then I realized that when he comes back... it's gonna be trouuubbbleeeee, trouuubbbleeee!! Prince can definitely do damage with our RF porch. Just don't start with the dreaded D**** T*** label, lol.

Too bad him and Cecil aren't on speaking terms. I'd love to see him in the big #45 Fielder jersey... maybe he will consider it.

As an Indians fan, I'm deeply depressed by this. We finally had some young up and coming players, with a decent shot at playoffs. We had a hard enough time tackling the Tigers before they even had Delmond Young. Now we are pretty much screwed again for the year.

The Indians will be stuck with these crappy owners for yeeears.

I have a feeling most Tigers fans will be very happy right now, but in the future it could be a different story. The Tigers will have decisions ahead. Prince is a very good player. I hope the contract works out, but I wonder if it will. Will he just end up being a DH in say 4 years b/c of his weight? Baseball contracts and all sports contracts are getting out of control. Prince will make about 160 grand per 9 innings. A-Rod, and Pujols are in the same situation. These contracts are crazy. I am a huge sports fan, but I think they should limit contracts. Baseball is the most out of control with contracts of the 4 major sports. They will never change things though. I am not trying to create a debate or rain on anyones parade, just pointing out some facts. On that same note, I am still trying to stomach the loss of Montero. Oh well. Hopefully, Pineda is as advertised.

On to the Show, I always have trouble dealing with Cabrera when playing the Tigers and Verlander is hit or miss for me (I will either rock him or not hit anything). But it is definitely going to suck having to face Prince there too haha. But I like the extra competition in the AL. I still can't land on an NL team to use this year. This game needs to come out already.

I don't really think the Tigers care if in the long run he isn't worth it. They want a WS run this year. And with Fielder than have a good chance. But personally I think it'll take Martinez making it back in good health and having all three of those hitters in the line up consistently for them to win it. Verlander is a monster, but when it came down to it, Cabrera and VMart almost never struck out. They constantly put the ball in play, it was the people behind them that weren't helping out when they needed to. Putting Fielder in isn't going to help that, especially considering he's even slower than VMart.

They also still need to get a DH. So they aren't even done yet. With Miggy going to 3rd they may be thinking about trading Castellanos for even another bat.
