    LA Clippers Association: Advice/Help

Started a Clippers association 2 weeks ago using Bedwardsroy19's rosters which are incredible.

    Current roster:
    Paul/Williams
    Billups/Foye/Terrico White/Leslie(in D-league)
    Butler/Gomes
    Griffin/Jerebko/Dorsey/Thompkins(in D-league)
    Jordan/Evans/Powe

I am 10-10, 6th spot in the Western Conf, 2nd spot in Pacific division. Which seems to be not bad as IRL Clippers will probably end up like that. For the moment it also seems like I can't manage to get over 50% of win ( I automatically lose a game then win the next game, over and over again... I swear I'm not doing this on purpose ^^ ).
That is why I'm hesitating between making a big trade, and thus become a real contender, or changing nothing, keeping my young talents and try to stay in the 8 first spots looking forward to improve my team in the future.

    Possible trade:
Pacers get: Monta Ellis and Travis Leslie.
Warriors get: Mo Williams, Ryan Gomes, Randy Foye, Joey Dorsey and two 2nd round picks ( or maybe 2013 1st round pick and 2012 2nd round pick from Pistons, acquired with Jerebko ).
    Clippers get: Danny Granger.

=> Butler would then start at A ( = SG ), Granger at PA ( Small Forward, sorry just realized A and PA is in French ^^) were and Billups will be sixth man. Mo's position would be changed to PA so he wouldn't interfere with Curry's minutes.

Also I have a very low ( 12% ) team chemistry and it was at the same level before trading for jerebko, I know a new trade won't improve it, but if you guys have any advice on how to improve this...

So, what you guys think ? Should I do the trade or should I change nothing and wait for the summer to improve my team through draft ( using a 2k share draft class with Sullinger, Davis, Rivers, etc in it ) and free agency ?

Also, if you are playing the Clippers in Association mode, feel free to talk about it ( your roster, what have you changed, what trade have you done... ). It could be inspiring.

If i ran the clipps, i'd trade for a starting SG. If you're going for realism, dont trade billups cause he was amnestied. But you should be able to find a taker for Williams and Foye perhaps for a decent start... if you want to keep foye trade williams for a guy and maybe a pick?

If you also need a backup big... I love the wizard's trevor booker. He can score and plays tough d. He should be an easy get.

Obviously, I won't trade Billups before next year, he would probably kill someone if he had to move again <label for="rb_iconid_10"></label>.

Don't really need a big back up, Evans, Dorsey and Powe are enough as my two starters are playing 32 minutes per game at least. But this idea of getting a good SG is not bad. Maybe I'll wait a little, but if my winnong record can't get over 50% or if team chemistry is still so low, I may have to make big changes.

Plus, Granger is in the rumors, so I may have to act quickly if I really want him. And I believe he is the only player that is available and that would make my team a immediate contender.

Keep it how it is. Williams is a good backup. In free agency sign a nice sg. The clippers are pretty good it shouldn't be too hard to win more. Cheese with Chris Paul

I'm cheesing, CP3 is playing like a MVP candidate averaging 20pts, 6rbds, 11ast,3stl with only 1TO. Everybody except from Billups as I can't catch is shot timing is playing at a great level. The problem is that my opponent always have a +10 rebounding edge, which is almost like IRL for the Clippers.

Also, in game stats are always showing my team as the worst defensive team... which is kind of weird since the games I play usually stay under the 100pts bar for both my team and the CPU team. Assocation stats are still messed up I guess...

Milwaukee will trade you Steven Jackson and either Drew Gooden (90+ midrange) or Ersan (90+ midrange) for Foye/Williams.

Leslie is a monster, you should think about giving him some run...small at 6''4, but his athleticism is up there with BG/Jordan. He will come out of nowhere for putback dunks and plays outstanding defense.

Never thought about Jackson, he would definitely be a good addition for the Clippers ! I'll look into it. Not sure if a Jackson-Ilyasova/Foye-Williams trade is fair though.

About Leslie, between him and Thompkins, I'd choose Thompkins. Had Leslie played 3 games before moving him to D-League, he hasn't done anything...
And with the addition of Terrico White who is playing better than expected ( averaging 12pts in 15min when Foye was injured, now he is just playing 5-6min per game but still very efficient, if you need a backup guard that can defend and shoot the 3s, give him he try, plus his shot is really easy to catch... that may be the reason why he scores so easily though ), there's not much space left for Leslie.

That would likely be good for you and the Pacers but thats a huge loss for the Warriors, if you really want that trade you probably should send 2 1sts to GS or just trade for Granger w/out including Golden State

I agree, Steven Jackson's days are numbered, make a play for him.

I know but what I like in trading is of course improving my team, but that's not all, otherwise I could just use the trade finder for granger and the CPU would accept to trade me Granger and Hansbrough for Butler, Billups and 1 2nd round pick, which is absurd... No I like adding some background based on real life to my trade if you know what I mean. Doing this trade would transform the Pacers into a serious rival for Bulls and Heat, the Clips would be a real contender with a big starting lienup but with a limited bench ( like Miami ) and it would also turn the Warriors into rebuilding mode. That's my idea and that is why I especially like that idea of trade.

But I sure could do the same with other players and other teams. I could replace Ellis by Mayo for example, then I would have to give much more to the Pacers so they give me Granger for just Mayo.
The point is I don't want to "cheat" and take any kind of advantage over the CPU by doing some trade that a real GM won't approve. But I also don't want to trade my best players that are leading my team even for a all star like Granger, because we always know what we lose, not what we get... I know, I like difficulty ^^.

                          Re: LA Clippers Association: Advice/Help

Finally found a solution to get Granger to my Clippers.

Clippers get: Danny Granger and Austin Daye
Pacers get: Ben Gordon, Charlie Villanueva, Eric Bledsoe, Randy Foye and 1st pick 2013 ( from LAC )
Pistons get: Mo Williams, Dahntay Jones, Jeff Foster, Terrico White and 2nd pick 2012 ( from Pacers, who are doing a very bad season for now ).

Seems not fair for the Pistons but it really is though, they have now three pick for the 2012 draft, and also before this trade they were 8M$ over the salary cap, after the trade they are 9M$ under the cap.
Clippers have now a strong 5, but the bench is very limited, only one player over 70 ovr. Pacers still have a solid 5 and solid bench, hope this will help them to improve their season because they only are 13th in the East for now.

Did some modifications regarding position so the new starting 5 are

LAC: Paul/Butler/Granger/Griffin/Jordan ( sixth man is Billups )

PAC: Collison/B.Gordon/George/West/Hibbert ( sixth man is Hansbrough )

PIS: Mo Williams/Stuckey/Prince/Maxiell/Monroe ( sixth man is Jones ).

                          What you think ?
