    Recruiting Stratigey ?

Been thinking about just recruiting Offense 1 year then the following just defense. And keep rotating the recruiting seasons like that. Have any of you dont this before??

Eh prob not something I would do. I usually just look at what I need for the next two seasons and try to fill a starter and backup position hypothetically.

Ive read that it's best to pick 10 players at a time, recruit then an hour each week until they sign w u or lean toward someone else. Then add a player when u lose/sign one.. Always having only 10 active recruits to focus on.. I've wanted to do it but always end up filing my board

I normally add 20 and then end up cutting down to about 15 by the time week 15 comes around.

I start off with 15-20 and call all of them. I then add/remove players if they start leaning one way or the other. By the end of the season I'll only have 10 or less players on my board calling all of them for 1 hour.

I typically pursue between 10-12 at a time. 60 mins each for 10, and 50 mins each for 12. I fill needs first.

I've never done that because I like to have a full class each season with preferably 1 kid at each position.

I go with 35 to start the year that I'm within 220 points of...

Week 4 or so I eliminate kids I'm behind on and continue to call the others...

Around Week 8 I go to the big board and add any kid who has 0 scholly offers until I'm back at 35.

I then recruit that 35 until the off-season where depending on my prestige I cut the less interested again to make room for the new prospects that pop up each season.

I routinely land Top 10 classes with this method even at lowly schools like Tulane etc.

It's a little known fact that especially with lower ranked recruits, simply having them on your board will increase interest. You don't even have to call them.

"top ten class" can be a few things.

                  A: 23 scholarships from 3 star guys, maybe a couple low 4's
                  B: a 5 star guy, 4-8 fours, and 5-10 3's
C: 7-12 total signatures, all highly rated four and five star guys

In my first year at a school I go with strategy A and get my scheme guys in there while focusing on pipelines. In year two and three I try my best for option B.

if you win a couple bowl games an get good scheme guys you should be rolling by now and move to phase C. In preseason I pick 5 to 7 game changing talents. I'm talking top five at their position, guys that can change the way your opponent calls his game. And 4-5 roster needs.

This timeline is based on my usual success. Could be slower/faster based on offline/online as level of comp for recruits/wins will vary

                    Re: Recruiting Stratigey ?

I never recruited like that before. I always recruit based on need. There has been a few season's when I only need 1 offensive tackle and a FB and I would just recruit on Defense to build it up. If I remember correctly I signed like 20 D players and 3 OT's that year.

Never tried it before but, Im going to try and recruit a player for each postion, and then for year 2, start all freshmen and see how my season pans out.

This is usually my strategy since I start with a 3/4 star program, Oklahoma State. I get what I can out of the pipeline 3* and 4* the first two years until the existing talent gets me to a couple conference/national championships.

                          <O</O
Then after year 4-5, I can pick and choose 10-12 top 50 kids that I am in the top 3 on and get 80% of them to sign. Then when kids start committing in week 6-8 during visits, I focus on 4 star guys with no offers and open commitments.

                          <O</O
In the off season, I usually only need 2-3 more players to fill out a class. Any new prospect is a target since you can create interest by contacting them. If they don't show significant improvement in interest after week 1 though, I'll drop them.<O</O
