    Final Roster Installment with 2011

This will be my final roster installment for 2011. The rosters will be accurate as of 1/30/12 for the 2012 season. This set will include nearly every notable draftee, foreign signee, a few of the top projected 2012 draft picks in the FA pool and my rendition of full minors.

I am a consumate perfectionist and I believe that my roster set will be what you are looking for. The time I have put into this final set will convey accurate simulation results as well as play beautifully.

I have to say thanks to everyone out there who chats it up with me and offers their valuable insight into making rosters as well as all of those contributors in the community that offer three or four suggestions for every batting stance and delivery.

Speaking of stances, I have made sure that nearly all stances are accurate in accordance with their IRL stance. The same goes for pitching deliveries and repertoires.

I am going to update a little more and make sure that every player is in the correct spot and lineups are spot on before I release this set.

Here's to 2012 MLB The Show and it's time for me to put 2011 in the rearview.

Any questions, feel free to ask.

Note about my set. I always find myself going back to the stock rosters to see where they have everything set at and then simulate. Unrealistic sim results have since driven me to search and search for the perfect ratings methodology. I actually had some time today and decided to take a look into fielding ratings.

I took every position and assimilated a list for each. I looked at all the Gold Glove winners that are included in the game and tallied up all their fielding ratings and then averaged them out.

      Here are my findings:
      Gold Glove Defenders

      C 1B 2B 3B SS OF SP
      Fielding 87 85 87 90 87 86 84
      Reaction 66 80 76 82 69 75 27
      Arm Str. 67 76 74 73 76 70 85
      Arm Acc. 83 67 66 85 77 80 79

*Note about arm ratings: Arm strength and accuracy ratings vary depending on said player (ie Ellsbury vs. Francoeur, etc.)

After simulating several seasons with these players and making marginal edits to their ratings, I have found a great rating scale for fielding.

This all being said, you will be very pleased with the defensive ratings for all potential Gold Glove winners!

Minor Leaguers will also have very good defensive ratings as this is something that should sustain.

I'm still working on these so they will be released when I'm done.

I am probably going to post this set tonight. I have too much going on right now and I'm over it because its taking far too long.

          Enjoy.

              that's awesome.

One thing i wanted to ask was about contracts. I know you can alter contracts some by putting guys on the FA list and resigning them...but it isn't perfect. Is there a better way that you've heard of?

I really have and will continue to appreciate everything the Knight crew and Co. have done for the MLB The Show series roster wise. But, what frustrates me is when some of the posters announce that they're going to do something (i.e. this most recent thread), get everyone excited, and then never do it - with this being the latest "installment" of this practice.

If you're not going to be a man of integrity or a man of your word, then don't announce that you're going to do a massive roster installment to begin with... Plain and simple.
