Then you have a 1/4 of people who quit in the fourth quarter like a minute before the game ends.

And the final 1/4 is people who actually play out games fully.
Thankfully, unlike NBA Jam, your winning percentage and streak don't take hits.

Unfortunately, I've had people quit on me with one second left in the game, and then I don't get my match bonus or a win on the leaderboards. Bunch of douches.

Today my friend and I ran into another exploit play to go along with QB Post:

Hail Mary quick throw to the X or B receiver.

It works just like the quick throw QB Post play, in that the two outside receivers are always open for the first couple of steps as soon as the ball is snapped.

If you're playing people with no conscience, they can just throw to one of the two receivers at the snap over and over again to move the ball down the field.

The only way to stop it is to play co-op so you have two human defenders to cover both the X and B receivers.

I never remembered either of these plays being an issue in the old Blitz's, but I guess I never played people who bring this kind of mindset to the game that they just want to one to run the same exploit all game long.

I found out how to play as a lineman on defense:

        1) Choose "near zone" in the huddle.

        2) Switch to the MLB pre-snap (if you look closely, he is actually one of your linemen).

        3) Audible to either "safe cover" or "1 man blitz"

        4) You will become the left defensive end!
Unfortunately, the AI coverage is so bad in this game that it's just better to play the secondary and cover up for its mistakes.

Useful tactic in 2 vs. 2 games, though!

A server-side update is scheduled to be coming Friday:

          From Blitz developer Yuri_B:

Hey guys, just wanted to give you another update on this...we're almost done with testing (there are a few other fixes that are being rolled out along with this one) and assuming we don't find any issues tomorrow, the fix should go live on Friday morning. On Friday I'll post a more detailed breakdown of what fixes are being rolled out, but just to be clear, this isn't a patch, rather it's a server update that fixes some online issues.

I basically have given up playing online. I cant get any type of offense going due to my opponents running right to the LOS and tackling before anything. I do understand the type of game that it is, but I feel like I kinda wasted money on it now

You can reset their defense by calling an audible right before the play begins.

By the way, the least covered receiver is the one which is knocked down. If you have enough time to wait for him to pop back up, you'll at least get 15 yards a play on passing to that guy.

And, of course, do enough to make them change course. Do run plays (both with your QB and somebody in the backfield) until they stop doing what they're doing.

It's tough, I know... but it is the game, especially when user-controlled defense is incredibly flawed when it comes to batting down balls. Sometimes knocking them down at the LOS is all you can do.

I picked this up last week. My friends and I used to play the originals a ton. I've been having a blast with it, but I think that may be coming to an end already. After a couple of days things didn't seem right. I realized I had a couple older ones (2001 & 2003) for the Playstation, so I dusted them off for comparison. Once my eyes adjusted t the hideous PSX graphics I began to se the differences between the Midway and EA versions.

A couple of things really need to be tweaked if there is a patch or (more likely than a patch) a next version.

                  1) Line blocking. Defensive linemen in the new Blitz are pretty useless. In 2001 the CPU controlled DL would often break through and sack the QB quickly. In 2012 the only ones getting any pressure are the blitzers.

                  2) Tipping passes. It is very hard to jump to tip a pass in 2012. The ball physics also result in less passes being tipped and intercepted. Half of my INTs are due to a guy on the line picking it off 3 feet from the QB. The older versions have more tips and multiple touches downfield.

                  3) Too easy to beat the blitz. Partially due to item #1, it's pretty easy to avoid being sacked on a blitz. Not only that, there isn't the same risk to quickly chucking it up while under pressure. There is almost no consequence to this in 2012.

It's still a very fun game that is pretty true to the originals. If they tweak the gameplay and add some depth for the single player I'd buy it again. It was worth the $15, although I was hoping for a little more.
