Anyone still play NBA LIVE 10
I was thinking about picking this up for PS3. Anyone got any tips? Are the servers still up for this and what are the best updated rosters for the game?

Pretty sure they are still up, but not many people are online last I checked. This was a few weeks ago, and I have it for 360.OS Vets Co-Commissioner:

Re: Anyone still play NBA LIVE 10
I just re-bought it and am having a blast with this game. Unlike NBA2k, me and 3 of my dudes can be on the same team and play online. Best thing ever. We suck, and lose about every game, but being able to play like that with friends on the same console is amazing.
Its like 2k is my sim game, and Live is my FUN game. Not to say 2k isn't fun, just takes way more attention paid. Live is one of those games I can play leaned back on my couch, and 2k I have to pull another chair as close as possible to the TV so I have full attention paid to my game.Comment

Re: Anyone still play NBA LIVE 10
I just bought the game on PS3 and im having fun with it. I might do just by 2k13 for xbox and elite 13 for PS3 later this year. I havent played a live game since 04. Im having a problem with the cpu not subbing or their fatigue does go down during the game. I dont know if its a slider setting or a gameplay setting. Need help and tips asap. thanksComment

Re: Anyone still play NBA LIVE 10
Fatigue is done poorly in the game. It's designed for long minute quarters and the slider doesn't work well. Crank the slider all the way to 100 for fatigue and you will see some auto subs. Again, it's better on longer quarters.I just bought the game on PS3 and im having fun with it. I might do just by 2k13 for xbox and elite 13 for PS3 later this year. Check the Elite Rosters section for PS3 Rosters (http://www.operationsports.com/forums/nba-elite-rosters/531406-ps3-nba-live-2012-rosters-complete.html). RayRay has done a great job of updating them although it requires a work around. Just follow the instructions EXACTLY to get the rosters to work.
As for sliders, I'm not a hardcore guy. Good players will play on the harder difficulties. I play on Pro Sliders with boosts for the cpu and have a lot of fun.Last edited by rudyjuly2; 02-10-2012, 04:17 PM.Comment

Thanks I got RayRay's rosters and their great. Is their any way to change teams strategy or rotation settings (team DNA)? also playing on all-star difficulty, do you guys have any tips on shooting and post game really struggling to put up points.Fatigue is done poorly in the game. Re: Anyone still play NBA LIVE 10
I don't know if I have any strategy on shooting. The post game for me is mainly flicking the r-stick left or right and trying to spin. I double tap the shot button to try the up and under move once in awhile but that's about it. I don't normally try fadeaway jumpers as I don't have any success with that. In fact, I get annoyed when I pump fake a defender and then dribble drive a few feet for an open 15 footer and end up shooting a leaner. It's hard to get that momentum back under control for me but I'm not an expert by any stretch.Comment

Hmm. Was thinking of picking this up but I wanted to check out the demo first. Apparently it's no longer available.Comment

If you downloaded it when the demo came out you can still download it. Just go to the Xbox website and sign in. Then go to your purchase history and look for it and add it to you queue.Washington Redskins

Re: Anyone still play NBA LIVE 10
Didn't want to start a new thread, so this seemed the most appropriate place to put this.
When Live 10 first came out I downloaded the demo and loved it, I ordered the game but then saw the vs 2k10 reviews and videos so got the demo for that and ordered the game, after much deliberation I decided to keep 2k10 as it was the supossed better game.
Anyway the round of 2011 editions comes round and we all know what happened there. Fast forward to this year and after being disappointed with 2k12 (Im not going to get into that here). I decided to purchase Live 10 after seeing it cheap in a second hand store recently.
To cut to my point, I am loving this game. I Work all day like most, and when I get home I just want to play a game for fun and enjoyment, I don't want to have to work hard at it and make it seem like a task. This is where EA excels I think, sure they are not without their faults but ultimately I think they do a good job of stradling that fine line between arcade fun and simulation realism.
As for Live specifics I like the player models in this game, they all look different and like the person they are supposed to be instead of just bigger or smaller versions of the same person (Im talking just body shapes here not faces, which incidently are not bad either). I also really like the mechanics of the game, just pressing one button for shoot and then the game engine works out the appropriate shot, which means that I don't have to spend hours learning basketball specifics but i still get a nice presentation and representation of the sport.
There are loads of other things I enjoy, the way a player will automatic move the ball between hands as he comes down court, the way players will point and direct players around the court and many other little things which on their own mean little but alltogether make up a nuce feel to the game.
I can't wait for the next edition. I know they are supposed to be re-writing the game, but I can't help feel that they had the basic foundations for a great one right here, and that all is needed is some basic tweaking and updating. That said if they can do for this series what they did with Fifa and NHL then we are in for a treat!!Last edited by drew_3; 02-25-2012, 11:07 AM.Comment
