SSX Online Pass Won't Restrict Online Play

IGN is reporting that the SSX online pass will not restrict online play.

In SSX, players without an Online Pass are able to compete and play in both of SSX's online game modes, Explore and Global Events with no restrictions," an EA representative explained. "In Global Events, the top finishers from each event are awarded with in-game credits. These in-game credits earned during play will not be awarded to the player if they do not have an Online Pass." If at any point you find yourself in dire need of that currency, redeeming your code or purchasing one from within the game will earn you access to any and all credits you've accrued online.

Re: SSX Online Pass Won't Restrict Online Play

I haven't really been much of an EA owner recently. Does one have to do something specific to obtain Online Pass other than purchasing the game (like a code within the manual), or is it an extra fee of some sort?

nope. free with the original purchase of the game. otherwise if you buy used/rent, it's usually $10 for the pass.

this is great news for SSX fans. it'll keep more players online for longer. there won't be as harsh of a dropoff in 3-6-9 months when people start to sell the game. hopefully we see more online passes handled like this.

        Much friendlier to gamers.

I wish all online passes were like this.

I assume we still get credits offline? I don't even play online. If this is another scam like Blitz (which was horrible anyway) I'm not going to be happy.

You only get credits to unlock more teams etc. by playing online.

Oh yeah, I noticed that when playing Blitz Gauntlet that I wasn't really unlocking anything. That is kind of messed up when you think about it.
