I Miss NBA Live 10
NBA Live 10 was a really good game on the low...I have played Live and 2K (currently 2K11 & 12') and to me personally no game captured the way that individual teams played like NBA Live 10! If the Golden State Warriors ran a SUPER uptempo offense where a shot was taken every 5-6 seconds, that happened in the game....if a team used the entire shot clock almost every time that's what happened and if the Lakers relied on Kobe in the clutch and nobody else like they do in real life....it happened! NBA Elite was supposed to fill in the missing features and polish NBA Live 10, but instead two years later we are left scratching our heads....I REALLY look forward to seeing if they have been able to elevate the gameplay and build on the great things this game had to offer already.“What’s better than one billionaire? 2.....”Tags: None -

Live 10 is fun, but I think the fact that EA hasn't had a game out in nearly 2 years makes it easier to forget some of the glaring flaws the game had.
Don't get me wrong, I still own Live 10 and play it from time to time as a change of pace from 2K, but there were some core issues that never received attention.Currently Playing:

I agree. The game had some glaring flaws, but I was hoping for them to be addressed in 11' before it was canceled.Live 10 is fun, but I think the fact that EA hasn't had a game out in nearly 2 years makes it easier to forget some of the glaring flaws the game had.

Re: I Miss NBA Live 10
Now that i think about it i do miss NBA Live 10 a lil bit.
I remember the crossovers i use to do to people online lol. Leave em on skates lol
The way you could chain the crossovers was real fun, I always wished that they would add signature animations but with the same control scheme then it would be on lolTwitter - @OtistheOriginalComment

Re: I Miss NBA Live 10
Honestly, I havent had fun with a basketball game since.
What EA did was one of the worst business decisions, in the video game world, of all timeComment

Re: I Miss NBA Live 10
What EA did was the right thing, they have the answers to a lot of problems that hurt b-ball games and I applaud them for trying. EA should come back big if they stick with the direction of Elite as far as the physics, more freedom is the way to go.Comment

Re: I Miss NBA Live 10
I miss NBA Live 10 too. It was really a great game. It was fun learning the DNA of your players and playing to their strengths. I remember playing with the Warriors was just a ton of fun. Maggette in the low wing isolation, Ellis on the high wing pick and roll, Curry isolation at the top of the key (with shooters at every position spread out across the floor. To get a good shot simply off-ball control one of them and cut and pop out for the 3.), Reggie Williams isolation and going left and pulling up for a smooth jumper. Live 10 had it all and was a very "simulation style" basketball game. I do miss it. Hopefully Elite builds on the great features of Live 10 and takes the game to another level. I personally can't wait to check out Elite. I have a feeling it's going to be a good game.Comment

Re: I Miss NBA Live 10
Didn't want to start a new thread, so this seemed the most appropriate place to put this.
When Live 10 first came out I downloaded the demo and loved it, I ordered the game but then saw the vs 2k10 reviews and videos so got the demo for that and ordered the game, after much deliberation I decided to keep 2k10 as it was the supossed better game.
Anyway the round of 2011 editions comes round and we all know what happened there. Fast forward to this year and after being disappointed with 2k12 (Im not going to get into that here). I decided to purchase Live 10 after seeing it cheap in a second hand store recently.
To cut to my point, I am loving this game. I Work all day like most, and when I get home I just want to play a game for fun and enjoyment, I don't want to have to work hard at it and make it seem like a task. This is where EA excels I think, sure they are not without their faults but ultimately I think they do a good job of stradling that fine line between arcade fun and simulation realism.
As for Live specifics I like the player models in this game, they all look different and like the person they are supposed to be instead of just bigger or smaller versions of the same person (Im talking just body shapes here not faces, which incidently are not bad either). I also really like the mechanics of the game, just pressing one button for shoot and then the game engine works out the appropriate shot, which means that I don't have to spend hours learning basketball specifics but i still get a nice presentation and representation of the sport.
I can't wait for the next edition. I know they are supposed to be re-writing the game, but I can't help feel that they had the basic foundations for a great one right here, and that all is needed is some basic tweaking and updating. That said if they can do for this series what they did with Fifa and NHL then we are in for a treat!!Comment

Re: I Miss NBA Live 10
I never played this game since I gave up on EA after live 07 or 08. But I may have to give this a try however since it's pretty cheap these days.
But I'm need of a non sim type of bball game. I may have to get both 2K13 & Live 13 for this reason alone lolComment
