Vita/MLB12 the Show vs. IPad2
I'm torn. What should I do guys? I'm a HUGE The Show fan and will have it for my PS3 on March 6. And the cross platform saves is nearly a gamechanger for me because I have a lengthy daily commute to work via the train (1 hour each way). But an iPad is so useful for pretty much everything else except PS3-like quality gaming. If you had to choose one or the other, what would it be and why?Tags: None -

Re: Vita/MLB12 the Show vs. IPad2
Totally a personal choice...
Since I pretty much must have a laptop and carry around for work, iPad isn't really an attractive option for me.
If I don't have to have laptop, then it all depends on what I want to do during the commute. If I wanna get some work done (and if iPad is good enough for that), then I'd go with an iPad. If I wanna relax and just play the game, I'd get Vita.Comment

negative, I do have a Kindle Fire that I'm thinking about selling if I were to go the iPad route. Not to change the subject but for those thinking about the Kindle Fire keep in mind that its only $200 for a reason when comparing to other tablets on the market.Comment

I hear ya, it really is a personal choice. I think what is causing me to not run out and buy a Vita is that I have never really been a handheld guy. I had the PSP for a limited time but in all honesty it sucked when compared to console gaming. I know Vita is on a whole other level and I've seen some of the gameplay videos which look amazing.Totally a personal choice...

Had the same decision to make, and rolled with the Vita. It supplies me with what I need, plus even more. The iPad offered what I needed, but less on the "wants" area. Hard choice though........

THIS^^^^
Basically iPad covers a lot of what you need, while Vita specifically gives you what you want. I used to weigh the former much more, but now that I've realized life is much shorter than I have thought, I try to weigh the latter more. It probably a lot depends on how you weigh what you need vs what you want...
Is your want to satiate what you need fulfilled by an iPad? Or do you feel more in need of satisfying your wants by owning a Vita?
What am I talking about??Comment

I wasn't interested in the Vita until I picked one up as a demo at Gamestop today. If I wasn't flat rear end broke, I'd go for one right now.Rangers - Cowboys - Aggies - Stars - Mavericks

It really was tough though to decide. One day it wad the Vita, the next it was the iPad 3. I seriously did my due diligence and after talking to people who owned and played the Vita....I went in and paid it off.
Just make sure that you do the same....hell, watch all the videos you can, read all the articles you can, and maybe even do a pro's and con's list for each device. You do not want "buyers remorse" on the purchase!

Who's on first? Ha, anyway I get what you are trying to say. I realize this isn't a life or death decision but really what else can I talk about when the game is still a few weeks out.THIS^^^^

Re: Vita/MLB12 the Show vs. IPad2
Yeah its totally up to what you need. I dont know what you do but depends if you need to 'work' on your commute. I also commute for the same time and I spend those hours either sleeping or staring out the window lol.
I personally would roll with a Vita but my circumstances are maybe different. I have a 15 month old so any PS3 time is seriously limited. I have a smart phone so i have the internet when on the move. If Vita can give me a couple of hours a day playing the show then that is major good news plus it makes the commute much more enjoyable.
I really like ipads but I donno, I have a laptop, phone, ipod and soon Vita. They all do things an ipad does but better. I feel the ipad is jack of all trades but master of none.Comment

Ha, that should be apple's new motto....iPad--the jack of all trades but master of none. I'm in the same boat as you but I have 3 kids, meaning PS3 time is limited to weekends and late night during the week. This is where the Vita peaks my interest, and if the graphics compare I just may go this route.Yeah its totally up to what you need. I was in the same boat and I will buy the Vita, sell my MacBook and get an iPad 3. I have my work laptop for work and and iMac for a computer at home. My personal laptop has become an Internet device and a DVD for the kids so I think the iPad does that better.Comment

Having played The Show on both the PSP and the Vita, I can tell you it plays MUCH better on the Vita. Feels like the console game to me.I hear ya, it really is a personal choice.
