No, they give you 2Kshare in order to give you options. They know that certain people (like you) will never be satisfied with their official rosters, so why not let you download someone else's roster if you aren't happy with 2K's. It has nothing to do with having others do their jobs for them. Hardly. Like I've said I'm very happy with 2K's effort with the rosters. So to me, they have done their jobs (and then some).

Your right and 2k could sign with a lot of companys like espn , sports center and nba tv to keep them up to date rosters but don't use whats given and crew wasn't in game either such a let down I would think they use it
as A DLC I would Pay for.

i am very disappointed with 2k..i didnt expect them to have everything updated when the season started on christmas becuz during that time people usually take vacations from work or just would have time off..but we are almost at the end of february and we get half-*** updates..i bought this game on release day, i also bought the dlc..why, becuz i am a loyal 2k fan..but it seems as if my loyalty, along with others on this website means nothing..the only thing i can think of is that they are waiting for the trade deadline to pass and then we will get an official update with all missing players and art mods..

this exactly, these roster updates are void for me until i the art updates come, shame that its been this long and they havent released anything they promised except a slimmer perkins body, lol at 2k, pc is where its at, for now on for me, save myself and extra $40 worth of console headaches

I think 2K has done a great job of providing roster updates along the way, ensuring that most players in the game play like their real life counterparts. Sure there are little art modifications here and there that need to be done, but the big picture of the post-release support is pretty good. It's as good as I ever remember it being in the 2K series, and I've been playing since 2K3.

On topic - JR Smith in the game, and he brings some JR Smith cheese along with his arrival. This guy can light it up in this game. He has the perfect blend of Swiss and Cheddar, the Swiss being he can get to the rim and finish with a nasty dunk, the Cheddar being he can spot up and hit the 3. It's a perfect blend of 2 fine cheeses.
You can't be serious! Saying "2K has done a great job of providing roster updates along the way" sounds like you're talking about a totally different game. We're talking about NBA 2K12. What are you talking about?

Fluent sounds suspiciously supportive of 2K. He's right about one thing though, you do see what you want to see. I see so many little things that 2K could fix on the rosters to increase the realism of the game, such as adding an arm sleeve here or the right socks there. These small details might not mean much to some, but to other people who paid $60 for a product that advertised its realism and roster updates, it does mean something.

There's really no excuse for such inconsistent and mediocre updates from 2K. Seriously, how hard is it to add an arm sleeve to Blake, or change LA's socks, or increase Pekovic's ratings? It's simple fixes like this continue to be ignored and that continue to piss customers off.

Give 2k a break, the lock out really put things out of wack for them. I'm big on custom rosters anyway.

How is Demarcus Cousins still a 71? He should be the best player on the Kings and be rated at least a 78. Hes been pretty much putting up 20 and 12 type games ever since the coaching change and his rating hasn't gone up at all. Proof that 2k only pays attention to big market teams/best teams. Guess what your supposed to be covering the entire NBA, not just what you see on the front page of ESPN.

I'm disappointed with the roster as well.

The only reason why I'm waiting for the official roster update from 2k is because I want all rookies to look like their real life counterparts. You can't get that from custom rosters - in consoles at least. If I can custom rosters with real cyberfaces on all rookies, then I won't be needing their crappy rosters.

Where have you been at for the last 4 months? lol. Pretty much all custom rosters have rookies with their real cyberfaces and probably look more like their real life counterpart because 2k doesn't pay much attention to accessories.

                          Well yeah, but...

Does that explain how they found the time to change Jeremy Lin's equipment (which is wrong, BTW) and update him, yet they can't fulfill what they advertised for the majority of players who need it?

For example, Josh Smith is STILL wearing those adidas sleeves which, to my knowledge, he's never actually worn. He's always recently worn a padded sleeve or sleeve in general on his left arm (I think ). The only player who's gotten attention is Kendrick Perkins, and they just made him smaller. Probably takes 30 seconds.

I won't give a company a break when they tell us dynamic updates are coming, then 2 months later they're MIA because they're working on 2K13, or it would take too long to scan a player's face, etc.

I remember Ronnie was pushing the whole, "Be patient, you want us to do the player models right, right?" when guys were asking him about Larry Hughes, Gerald Green, etc. It's been like 2 months and Larry Hughes STILL isn't on the game. They have CAPS for Ivan Johnson and Gustavo Ayon, which I could understand for Ayon, but Ivan Johnson has been on the Hawks for a while to my understanding. Plus, how could they add Ayon when guys like Chris Johnson and Jeff Pendergraph aren't in, and they PLAYED last year? That, to me, shows that they favor DEMAND on their list of priorities.

The 2K Insider's job (if it's even a real person) is supposed to be working on rosters, or WHATEVER the heck he does. I'm not sure any of us here even know anymore. Point is, whoever does the rosters should be doing that; they have no need to be working on 2K13 unless that guy also does animations or helps in some other area. They could hire some dude (heck, one of us!) to manage rosters AT LEAST, not even mentioning the "dynamic updates."

Well honestly, overall rating has nothing to do with how a player plays. DeMarcus Cousins can still put up numbers at a 71. OVR won't change that, depending on his indiv. ratings.

You could give a Center all 99 MID and 3PT range, and drop everything else, and he's have a horrible OVR. He'd still drop 20+ on you if he sets and shoots.

And this isn't only stemming from the broken, overzealous ambitions that were the roster updates. The nagging issues and irritants in this game are starting to turn me off from it."

This is what I'm sure most 2k heads will be doing. Giving EA a chance. I know I am

what??? lol, you mean to tell me that the lockout affected 2k art team and there ability to already update players tats, correct hair etc (what else did they have to do), the lockout affected 2k online tech team in there ability to fix there horrible servers, so your saying the NBA lockout it responsive for that, so was 2k also locked out of there company until the lockout ended (seems that way, if were judging for there progress with this years game?) nope pure laziness and in reguards to 2k, the blame falls on no elses shoulders etc 2k in those areas, especially when dealing with simple roster edits and update, shame
