Honestly, it wouldn't phase me one way or the other - I'm just glad to see competition back in the virtual hardwood arena. I haven't cared much for Live since Live '03. But having said that, I, for one, can't wait to see what EA will bring to the table. The 2K series has become far too complacent to my liking with the tug-and-pull controls, overbearing animations, and cheap AI. All I can say is welcome back.

The fact that John Wall mentioned EA wanting feedback on their Facebook page either leads me to believe that:

A) They want feedback on the name change BACK to Live, or...

B) They'll be dropping a commercial/video or 3 on us over All-Star Weekend.

I'm hoping it's the latter, it's the only viable way we can give true feedback on what we see unless they're releasing some sort of BETA.

But I'm truly excited for this. Tired of the collective BS that's in 2K, as good of a game as it may be. Hoping this looks fun to play because that's really what 2K isn't at this point for me.

EDIT: Read the article. It looks like more info will be released on the Facebook page on Monday, so it looks like hiphopgamer was right about a reveal coming. Makes sense to drop some info after the All-Star Weekend excitement. Hoping we can get a video, and in the coming months, some new features videos.

EA is a major corporation. They don't need to release it for $30, people are gonna buy the game, and depending on how they market it, it could truly rival 2K's sales.

I'm thinking we might see a return of All Star Weekend as a game mode.

I'm hoping we get the Skills Challenge and an updated Dunk Contest, both as a mode and in Franchise.

I also wouldn't expect them to use Jeremy Lin as the cover athlete. While it would definitely sell games, it'll make them look desperate in the eyes of many, especially 2K fans on the fence after the general debacle that was 2K12.

If they continue with the whole "future of basketball" thing, then maybe we see one of the younger guys on the cover? Maybe one of the three guys who were there (Kyrie, Rubio, or John Wall)?

It's only competition if EA puts out a good product, just releasing a game is not enough.

I like the name change.. but then again i wasn't really against the elite name in the first place.

Call me optimistic, but i have faith that this years NBA sim from EA will be something to talk about (in a good way).. lets just hope it wasn't just the name that was changed, lets hope that the heads of EA saw the potential live 10 had and chose to build from the solid foundation it set.

I am anxoius to see what they improved on over the last 2 years. I am also anxious to see if the will have really good graphics because EA games usually have great graphics.
I was always a Live player. It wasnt until 2k11 when I started playing 2K.

this is excellent news, but i have to say i believe the cover guy will be durant, i think they will like to rebuild their relationship with durant due to the fail of elite, and being that durant wasnt even informed about elite being cancelled from the corporation, i forgot how he found out though, think twitter
