    2012 Kansas City Royals

I'm excited for this year. I think a lot of people have their expectations set way too high, but I realistically expect a third place .500 finish. And if that happens, I'll be happier than I have been in years. Our rotation is the one place where we are lacking. But if things click elsewhere, and as mediocre as the division is, .500 should be about right. I had so much fun watching this team play last year, and they lost 91 games. As long as the chemistry stays the same, I think it's gonna be a fun year.

This should be a fun year. A very fun year. So much youth (Hosmer, Perez, Moustakas, Giavotella, Cain, Duffy) mixed in with some guys who have been here and had good years last season (Gordon, Butler, Francoeur) should be a good combo for some success this season.

I think I'm honestly most excited to see if Gordon can continue playing at the high level that he played at last season. He quietly was one of the best players in the AL. That sigh of relief you hear is KC fans exhaling now that it looks as if Gordon has finally put it all together.

It's just too bad that we didn't sign Gordon to an extension before last season. We could have easily gotten him for 5 for $25 or $30 mil, when now it's like 5 years for $80. Oh well, I guess it's a good problem to have. Can't say I've ever had to complain about that before.

I would be completely shocked if we ended up signing him for as much as $80 million. That would be insane.

I don't think we will either, but that's the range his agent started in. I bet it's more like 4 for $40 or maybe $50.
