Word came down this morning from the top about the deal - the individual stores apparently weren't aware of this deal yesterday. I called back just in case and they said they were honoring it now. Ran down to Gamestop, got it pre-ordered, and I'll be picking it up Monday night! If you got snubbed yesterday, call again - you may get a different response today.

One thing: If you decide to pay for it in full when you preorder, you will be temporarily paying the price of both games. I was told the deal would only be honored when I go to pick the games up - in other words, I'll get $20 cash (yes, I made sure it isn't just store credit) back when I hit up GS Monday night for the games.

Is this a special deal, or just some new fangled math the kids are using these days?

I got in on the newegg deal for $48 and then used the $20 credit for preordering the Vita from amazon and used that credit on The Show on the Vita.

So yes they were both deals but both were very easy to get in on.

I have both preordered from Amazon as well and I'm still waiting to see if Amazon picks this deal up. One thing i have noticed for the Vita version, it doesn't appear to be release date delivery like the PS3 version. Messaged them on twitter inquiring about it but still no response. Has anyone else noticed this?

Well, I just went to my local Gamestop this afternoon and while the manager had vaguely heard of this deal they were not at this time doing the deal. He checked for corporate emails while I was there and........nothing. He did say that if it was on the website for "online" that the stores would be honoring it as well and that I could get the $20 back when I picked the games up. Apparently not ALL Gamestops are up to speed on this deal yet.

Ok, I get it now. So if Amazon honors the combo deal, you will switch your PS3 order to them, nice!

Yeah, I noticed that option isn't available anymore for the Vita version. I was lucky to get release day shipping on both early last week. I guess Amazon is limited as to how many copies they can promise for release day. Keep your eye on it though, I've noticed on a couple of my past preorders the release day option would come back again and then you can just go into your order and change your shipping method (it wasn't automatic). This is another reason I'm reluctant to cancel my order, but I will since there's a GameStop less than 10 mins from my house (even though I hate them, 20 bucks is 20 bucks).

As long as they're up to speed on Wednesday when I show my butt up on their doorstep at opening time I'm all good. If not heads will roll.

I canceled my first order to add credit I got from ordering the Vita and reordered but release date shipping was no longer available. I contacted them twice and the first just said it wasn't possible and the second made up some bs excuse that you can't cancel an order and create a new one that also has release date shipping.

I did get lucky and release date shipping was available two days ago but obviously it is no longer available. So the best I can say is to keep checking because it may become available again.

I preordered both games and paid in full (about sales tax includes: $106) for both versions; i expect a $21 refund when i pick 'em up! I already wrote to customer service @ GS! because, My local GS knows nothing about this discount, in fact i had to tell them it actually exists, the clerk went on to scan the game and no promotions "showed up" on the "system"! She told me to wait till tomorrows release and see if something "shows up" when i pick it up! If no discount is given, someone is getting sued

Didn't happen with me. Maybe my guy was just cool with it but I paid in full and he charged me 49.99 for PS3 and 29.99 for vita which came out to 86 and some change after tax.

Went on lunch to see if i could get this sorted out, since I paid in full for both copies before all of this was announced and everyone is clueless at my local store about it...kinda shows how unorganized things were on all sides..Sony for being so late on the announcement in the first place, and Gamestop being so slack on getting the word out to the individual stores...hope its sorted out at my local store by tonight..or in my case, when I pick them up tomorrow during my lunch break.
