COLUMBUS - - "Stepping down after another year of postseason absence was the right decision, I guess. This team has potential, this team has a leader but this team needs some new faces in the management.", Scott Howson, ex-GM of the Columbus Blue Jackets, said at a short-term press conference this morning at Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio. "They are already searching for an new GM and I am assisting them in any possible way. Maybe they also need to find a new headcoach. I had a long conversation with Scott (Arniel) yesterday, and he also thinks a change would be the best for this team. He needs some time now to think about it, and will then make a decision. So there is a lot of work to do in the next few days. We already have some names, but nothing concrete." The Blue Jackets management should act quickly now, finding a new GM as well as possibly a new Headcoach, with the start of the regular season only 45 days away. Headcoach Scott Arniel wasn't available for any comments at this point.
