cut scene of players flipping ball into crowd after innings?

I think this was answered because this is now a rule within MLB itself if I am not mistaken. I was pretty sure after the death they were discussing putting a ban on players flipping the balls into crowds and therefore would not be surprised if the removed it from the game.

Guess they'll have to ban Home Runs and Foul balls too, seeing as how the same thing can happen. It was ONE freak incident, I hate when this stuff happens and ruins it for everyone.
Don't get me wrong, terrible for the son and family that it happened to...but such a rare freak thing considering how long baseball has been going on and how many times players throw the ball into stands.Comment

Me too, just polls saying "should MLB do it" and an article about the mother of the man who died begging Hamilton and other players to keep throwing the ball.Comment

Re: cut scene of players flipping ball into crowd after innings?
Maybe they have taken this out of the game by MLB request or just cause some players are gonna be doing it less this year. Could be a MLB thing although my buddy who got 2k12 was excited that they added a cut scene of that this year. Really not a huge deal cause when you think about it most of the time they dont even toss it up there to the fans anywaysDrew Stubbs is fastComment

I understand what you mean. It is a terrible thing. Remember the all star game that fan was caught falling over the railing during home run derby.Guess they'll have to ban Home Runs and Foul balls too, seeing as how the same thing can happen. It was ONE freak incident, I hate when this stuff happens and ruins it for everyone.

For the record, in my post I said "if I am not mistaken." I don't know for sure that this is an official rule. I just knew that they were discussing it.
I don't think it should be a rule nor do I agree with it not being in the game. I just know that this was a huge deal when it happened and I know that MLB were stuck between a rock and a hard place on this issue.
