Fifa 12 Manager Mode. Is it possible to buy 'one club' players?

Will players like Gerrard and Lampard always be impossible to purchase as transfer?

I've sold one club players, but it took multiple attempts. Never tried purchasing one.

Selling them appears to work, but it doesn't seem like it's possible to buy them.

Has anyone accomplished buying a 'one club player'?

I've yet to successfully purchase a one club man, the closest I've come I guess is RVP, who I had to pay like 400k (420?) a week on top of a 60m+ pound transfer fee (as Liverpool, so they were inflated, and he didn't want to come so he rejected 3 proposals between 200-400k.)
