FCS Finally Back In NCAA 2013?
Will the FCS finally be put back into NCAA football 13. I don't mind the fake FCS teams but it just be better to play against smaller in state teams compared to playing the FCS SE and etc. Hopefully EA stop wasting the time with the FCS SE and take out TeamBuilder because TeamBuilder honest I can't stand it because you can just create and add why not go back to how it was before. Did the FCS ban College football for using their license in the game? What do you guys think?Tags: None -

Re: FCS Finally Back In NCAA 2013?
I agree FCS teams should be included, when they were I remember putting an FCS team in a dynasty, I'm pretty sure it was Alabama State, and I built them from the ground up, starting in Independence and eventually getting into the ACC, it makes the game more interesting.

Re: FCS Finally Back In NCAA 2013?
Well, chances are no, but there is hope this year. One of EA"s big reasons in the past for not including FCS teams was because the current game was built with the schedule only working with 120 teams.
Assuming they're adding all the new teams joining FBS football, that means the schedule has had to be redone, so there is hope that FCS teams are there, but more than likely EA is going to let us down in that department again.“No one is more hated than he who speaks the truth.”

Re: FCS Finally Back In NCAA 2013?
I'd guess no.
A Few Reason.
1- Only a few of them were ever in the old gen (HBCU and Ivies)
2- They need to make stadiums
3- Outside of OS, most people don't care (An oddly high amount of people don't even know what the FCS is)
I'd like them in, so I can use Lehigh, but TB is there.Football: Denver Broncos
Baseball: Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs
Hockey: Allentown Phantoms

Re: FCS Finally Back In NCAA 2013?
It would be nice, but like others have said, it's doubtful.
EA says it has to do with the disc space, I think it's just them being a little lazy and not putting a little extra time into the game. Of course, the game comes out once a year so they may not have the time.
I'd love for them to have both the FBS and FCS and give us the ability to a) bring teams up from the FCS to either fill a conference or create new conferences and b) use team builder to be able to add a D2 or D3 school to fill some FCS spots.--

This isn't the case. Only a few conferences weren't in. I can't remember which ones, but they're in the FCS thread IN THE WISHLIST FORUM.I'd guess no.

Re: FCS Finally Back In NCAA 2013?
1. It was more than a few. They had the A-10/CAA, Big Sky, Missouri Valley, Ohio Valley, Southern, and the Southland in addition to the HBC's and the Ivy Leagues. You're a Lehigh fan so the Patriot league wasn't in so maybe that's where you got that assumption? They had a lot of FCS teams.I'd guess no.

2. They never had real stadiums on the PS2 version (maybe on PS1). I think generic stadiums would be fine to start.
3. You may be right, but they had them in previous versions. They may also be able to attract fans of FCS schools and fans' interest in general. Playoffs too maybe. Just throwing that out there.Comment

Re: FCS Finally Back In NCAA 2013?
Honestly, I don't care about the FCS teams being there or not until EA makes a game that actually plays like football out of the box and applies realistic physics and momentum. Until then, FCS teams just are a waste of valuable time they could be using to fix the extremely broken game they released to us =/Check out my Houston Astros Dynasties:

Re: FCS Finally Back In NCAA 2013?
Actually there is a very broad fan base for FCS teams...especially when you look at all of the people who aren't on OS who take the time to create FCS teams in Teambuilder.
FCS schools have fans too, and quite a few have very huge alumni/fan bases.NCAA: Florida A&M Rattlers
NFL: Jacksonville Jaguars/Cincinnati Bengals

I recognize that the FCS schools have fans (Hence my Avatar) but they don't have as large fan bases as the FBS schools and IK most of my friends who have this game don't care about them.Football: Denver Broncos

Re: FCS Finally Back In NCAA 2013?
Here is what i don't understand, when the "disc space" argument comes up
NCAA Basketball 2010 (from Wikipedia)
The game includes 325 of the 347 schools in NCAA Division I. Eight Programs that are fully classified as D-I were left out as well as 13 transitional programs.[6] Division II Chaminade is playable in the included Maui Invitational Tournament.
Okay, so they can pull that off for Basketball.
If you take the total of FCS: 122 and FBS: 120 that gives you a total of 242 schools. That is 83 schools less than what they put in NCAA Basketball 2010.
Also in NCAA Basketball 2010 they were able to be coaches of those FCS programs. So, the argument of disc space is a weak one from EA Sports, just doesn't hold water with me. If a crapp basketball game can have it, why can't one of their flagship games not?Comment

This thread should really be merged with this one.

Two things that you are not taking into account with the disk space argumentHere is what i don't understand, when the "disc space" argument comes up

1. Roster size: Let's say each of those 325 D-I schools in the basketball game has 10 players on their roster. That's 3250 players. Now if you take the 242 D-I football teams and let's just say each roster is full (70 players). That would be 16,940 players.
2. Arena/Stadium size. I would imagine the larger football stadiums would take more disk space than the smaller basketball arenas.
However, as a counterpoint, this didn't limit there being close to 80 I-AA/FCS teams on the PS2 version of the game which obviously didn't have as much disk space as the PS3 version.Steelers : IX, X, XIII, XIV, XL, XLIII
