That's a fair point - I can understand the confusion for some. Let me preface by saying my comments are geared strictly for zone batting users.
Personally, I've never seen the yellow marker as the "end-all, be-all" of contact in the game for The Show. I know other games such as PYS and ASB have utilized a finite marker to indicate contact. They aren't the same approaches and I'm sure that's by design.
Let's really think about it here - Sony can change their batting approach to mimic PYS' cursor. Personally, I don't think it's necessary. IMO, it's a more realistic model, that's for sure. The thing is.... they are really the same things with a slightly different graphic and "trigger" zone. With all the complaints about hitting, I don't think it's the right move for The Show, just to say it's a more accurate model.
As the difficulty levels go up, you have a much smaller representation of a true bat. Try playing the game on Legend.
I think change for the sake of change isn't always a good thing. That's my issue with the Sony should do it just like this mindset .
