    2012 Transaction / Injury /DL EditsThread

    -Updated 05/06/2012-
I've created a franchise file using the OSFMv3 rosters (pitch edits). Information on where to get and how to use the franchise file can be found here.

To keep up with injuries, DL assignments and transactions you can follow along with the list in the original post (which will run two weeks behind schedule (I'll start updating it this evening) or if you want to go past the two week mark strut24 is keeping an active injuries/transactions list going in post #21 of this thread. Thanks strut24!

    To Injure Someone
    1. Use the L2 and R2 buttons to cycle through teams.

    2. When you found the team you want to edit go into Disabled List which starts you in the "Injured Players" screen.

    3. Press L1 or R1 to bring up Mange Injuries Screen.

    4. Scroll to the player you want to injure and press x

    5. Choose the injury type and duration and then choose "Confirm Injury". The player should now show up as injured in the list. (on a side note, you can choose the player again to remove the injury as well)

    6. Press L1 or R1 to return to the "Injured Players" screen and you'll see the player in there.

    7. Select the player by pressing X and you will be given the option to move them to the 15-Day DL or 60-Day DL

    How To Make Roster Moves
When sending down, releasing, designating, etc. you use the "MANAGE ROSTER" option. For all the moves you can save yourself some time by sorting by position (use L1/R1 to sort through the positions). Every edit uses the position that is designated to the player in the O.S.F.M.SPRINGTRAINING rosters even in some cases where it is different from the official MLB transactions logs.

How To Run Day To Day
    1. Each day go to the calendar and press x and choose "View Todays Games".
    2. Select each game you don't intend to play or watch and choose "Simulate Game"
    3. Select the games you want to play, manage, watch, etc. and do that.
    4. After all games have been played make the edits in the list for that day.
    5. Once you have made the edits for each team, go back to the calendar and choose "Sim To Date"
    6. You are going to be making lots of edits as you go so make sure to save off copies that you can go back to if necessary. Nothing is more frustrating then hosing up some edits and not having a backup copy to go to.

You have to set injuries to manual in the options menu.

I'm doing that, but it still won't allow me to manually place them on the DL.

Well first of all, thank you for keeping the live transaction threads going each year, they've been super helpful to me and I'm sure many others! I'd love to get a hand with this one but like I said, I don't want to step on toes or rain on anyone's parade. Credit where credit is due and all. It was your idea to post a live transactions update thread on the site and you should keep doing it under your name. So if the title of the thread I started is too similar or whatever please let me know.

I've been thinking about this since originally posting it. I'd like this thread to be more of an "Idiots Guide To An Extremely Accurate 2012 Digital Season'. So rather than a list of transactions, I'm thinking it would be a list of all the in game actions someone would need to take to keep all levels rosters as accurate as possible. So ideally as you run your season you can just follow along with the thread and make the edits as they're listed for each date. The thing is, with injuries especially we never know when an injury is going to be extended so at times I'll have to remove an injury. I think you can keep players on the DL if they go over their injured time but I'm leaning on the side of longer injuries.

Another tricky bit will be figuring out minor league transaction AAA -> AA, A -> AA, etc. If anyone has any tips on where to find an accurate account of minor league transactions it would be greatly appreciated!

I'm currently working on the TODO: Injure players that were injured prior to 03/01 on the first day of the franchise (most of the 60 DAY DL guys) as well as a reformatting of what's already in the first post and should have something up this evening.

I ran into this as well. The key is, to control all 30 teams and to make sure that CPU Roster Control is turned Off. Here is what I did to setup my franchise when you first create a new franchise...

                  Team Select Screen
                  1. Press the square button to "Select All" the teams.
                  2. Press start to continue

                  Mode Entry Options Screen
                  1. Fantasy Draft - Off
                  2. CPU Roster Control - Off
                  3. CPU Trading - Off
                  4. Instant Trades - On
                  5. Ignore Budgets - On
                  6. Force Trades - On
                  6. Designated Hitter - Auto
                  7. Press X to continue

                  To Injure Someone

I'm not in front of my PS3 atm so I might not be 100% on the names of the menus, however... I just realized that my instructions did not include a couple of steps...

                        1. Go into the user settings under the "Game Mode" options and set "Manage Injuries" to "Manual".

                        2. In "Gameplay Settings" on the "General" tab, set Injuries to "Manual"

If both of those are set correctly check under Profile Associations to make sure that the profile assigned to the teams have the settings as well. It could be that you've edited a profile correctly but the teams are not set to use that profile.

Halara if you go to www.rotoworld.com you'll see the MLB section and under transactions, if you go back to April 4, you'll see quite a few injuries that will need to be listed such as Ryan Madson out for the year and Stephen Drew out to start the season etc. I am pretty sure they are already listed as "injured" in the OSFM by way of starting them in "A" but if you list them out, it'll be easier to tell who is where and when they do actually come off the DL, you'll see it here in this thread. were you able to find my link from the last few years? you can follow the same format I did, people really seemed to like it

edit: here is my thread from last year and the year before. Just follow the same format. You'll see I stayed consistent in how I posted the teams, order of who was sent down/called up, etc etc. It makes it much easier to follow if you do it that way

Making edits to the master list for additional 04/03/2012 DL additions.

There were a lot of players moved to the DL today but I'm unfortunately going to be offline through Sunday night so those as well as changes through the weekend will have to wait for now.

All of these changes are made using the OSFM Spring Training roster as a starting point. Many thanks to Knight and crew for all blood, sweat and tears poured into this roster set.

I'm in the process of putting together a spreadsheet of the entire roster to help me track player movements as well, I have 7 teams left to go but once that I've completed that I'll start adding non-injury transactions as well. My hope is that I'll have everything up to speed late next week and from there on out it will just be daily updates as they occur. I'll likely stay at least a couple of days behind real time so that the transaction pages at mlb.com and milb.com have a chance to be complete so that I don't have to go back and add to days I've already done.

Today's 04/30/2012 additions include the following and will be updated in the main post as well...
