Really? As someone who plays online, I can agree that if the catcher freezing bug isn't fixed, they really overlooked a big problem. I fully expected it to be fixed in the patch...not doing so is major oversight, IMO.

What causes it? I've played maybe a dozen games online and never seen nor even heard of it.

A dropped third strike. It allows *all* baserunners to advance as many bases as they can while the catcher is frozen and unable to move or throw. I've seen it plenty, and while it's not an every time thing, it's happened enough that it should've been fixed.

I never noticed half of these fixes. The one thing I DID notice was the jersey and game start times.

I personally don't play online, mainly because I am wireless. Apparently, that causes major issues in this game.(it doesn't cause any issue in any other game I play...except Transformers:WFC but that is just a crappy online system but whatever) So...I never noticed the catcher freeze.

The RF throwing folks out. Maybe it's just me, but I never noticed that. I tried over and over to do it and it never worked. Was that an online thing too?

And, SCEA...why do you hate wireless players?

Right...I'd assume that you (like me) don't throw in the dirt often, so it's not something we see all that much. But it does happen. In league play, it's not an issue...guy get's picked off first and out occurs. Of course in general, random online play it's a terrible bug when it happens, because you know it's taken advantage of to the fullest extent.

I don't throw in the dirt often either and I NEVER intend to. But on an 0-2 count, you are supposed to pound the curveball or drop a change-up.... that's just pitching. Unfortunately, that is the time when the catcher freezes and can allow up to 4 freebie runs to score.

It happens every other online game I play and developers said it was noted and reported... so people were EXPECTING it in this patch.

If you are connected to the internet it should download as soon as you start the game up.

I understand your points about online and how they marketed it as a big time feature. I guess if I was in your situation I would be pretty pissed as well. I just didn't understand the comment about the rest of us praising them for their work on the patch. I would say that the vast majority of us are completely satisfied with their communication with the community and how they interact. It's far better than any other game I know. In your situation it's just different because there aren't many people on your side because most of us on here are franchise or season mode kind of people. I know that's what I am, which is probably why I'm not pissed off.

I don't want to sound like an a hole, but what I suggest is to not buy baseball games for online play at all. It has been so long since a baseball game was actually good online and I would probably wait for feedback from others who play online before you actually buy the game. Just my overall suggestion. It's pretty weird how it's like night and day comparing the experience of NHL and FIFA online to MLB The Show online. It must just be something with baseball games because it's not just The Show that has problems online.

Marlins park wall color was not fixed, as well as there missing jersey patch. I'm still pretty happy with this patch great job scea with this patch I can now start my franchise .

What's makes baseball so tough online is you are trying to hit a ball traveling at 90mph, from almost a 1st person viewpoint. So basically, when batting you're attempting to replicate an action that takes approximately a second (slow compared to real life), over an Internet connection, through a server, through controller and video lag (x2). I think it does very well, all things considered.

Hockey or Soccer may have more players, but things are slowed down relatively, due to the camera angles. So you aren't trying to hit a puck or ball moving at near true to life speeds.

The catcher freeze happened to me and pretty much cost me a game in the league I was in. I thought it was just a freak occurrence, since I had never heard/read about it before this thread. It pissed me off enough that I decided to take a break from online (not that alone, but an accumulation of online quirks) Knowing that it's a widespread issue now, I'm willing to wait for the patch to actually release before getting pissed about it all over again. It's like this thread got derailed before anyone even got to download the patch. Try it, and if it's still an issue, then feel free to riot, picket, boycott or whatever the next step is in the ranting process.

And how dare someone give genuine thanks for something they've been waiting weeks for... that's just blatant "bending over" for a company who does nothing to please it's customers, and are totally unreachable /sarcasm
