Everything looks very very good the passing DB's there is just one little thing on my part did not see any equip ment I'm still probably buy the game but it's disappointing I don't get why madden and NCAA share equipment cause madden added a dump load of helmets facemasks soese gloves but back to the video it looks good. -

Re: NCAA Football 13 Video - No More Psychic DB's, 25 Different Pass Trajectory Zones
Whenever a get ready to rant about the seemingly overly negative posts about the stuff claimed in the video, I do a Google search of past next-gen EA football games and I say "OHHHH, that's why, I remember now". lol
I am optimistic about the new team and other changes that have taken place for EA football but there is really NO WAY to be sure if you will enjoy NCAA 13 until actually playing it. If I am not mistaken the Online Pass only allows for the game to be played a few days before release and that's not enough time for me to "feel" the game play out.
The BlockBuster in my area just closed down and the online game rental websites don't provide an online code so I would have to pay for online access if I rent it by mail. However, I just checked opened video game return policies for most stores and that gives 15 days to exchange an opened game for store credit or another game.
The best decision seems to be to buy the game and play the ish out of it for 14 days/2 weeks to decide if it's worth it or not. A two week trial kind of and that will prevent people from feeling influenced by marketing to throw their $60+ away.Last edited by Big FN Deal; 04-14-2012, 12:16 PM.Comment

I'm sure psychic db will be in the game in some form as in mirroring routes. If the passing trajectory and arcs can overcome this then I'm fine with it for the most part. But if I see one instance where I hit pass and the db from the other side breaks on the ball for a pick I'm going to flip. That better be eliminated when they mean no more psychic DBsHELLO BROOKYLN.

Re: NCAA Football 13 Video - No More Psychic DB's, 25 Different Pass Trajectory Zones
You'd think if they were updating the passing system they would have finally implemented different throwing motions and allowed us to choose. Instead we get stuck with the ugly Tim Tebow throwing motion.
Madden on last gen had different running motions for players, Madden on this gen has had different throwing motions for players... NCAA is yet to implement either one.
The frustration comes from them moving on to the next new thing and not making enough improvements to the things already in the game, especially gameplay. They are so focused on adding a new feature each year so they have something to put on the box instead of making sure the game itself is the best it can be. And then they add a new feature and don't improve it, custom stadium sounds, teambuilder, etc. I wonder if they even bothered fixing Coaching Carousel or if just adding it in is enough for them because they think just by adding it they satisfied us.
And then i lose more faith when the videos they pick out, after all this time of developing the game, are so ugly and in this case they talk about something being gone from the game and they show a video with it still in there! AmazingComment

So basically if u throw an interception ur gonna cry and return the game. In real life cornerbacks do read plays and intercept balls. Just doesn't happen all of the time. The percentage shoot be cut down drastically in the game, but it should exist.I'm sure psychic db will be in the game in some form as in mirroring routes. Trade in credit is a rip-off also.
I'm trying to understand how grown men (not you specifically) behave as though the world will end if they're not one the first to play the game so they can post their impressions.
Just don't get it at all, especially knowing the history of the game has always required a patch or two after release.
I know some say they will trade it in for Madden, but when has Madden ever been worth $120
I'll wait to get my hands on a rental.
There are still a couple of Blockbusters within 15 min drive from me.Last edited by khaliib; 04-14-2012, 05:14 PM.Comment

So a corner on the left sideline running stride for stride with a WR on a streak is going to break on the ball AT THE QB RELEASE on the other sideline for a pick. Bull****. And prove that they can. Don't show me Ed Reed playing center field either because that's not what I'm talking aboutHELLO BROOKYLN.

Same thing I said earlier, boggles my mind. I just can't understand it. I just can't see them touting this passing game upgrade and not adding different QB styles. You'd think if they were updating the passing system they would have finally implemented different throwing motions and allowed us to choose. Instead we get stuck with the ugly Tim Tebow throwing motion.

Re: NCAA Football 13 Video - No More Psychic DB's, 25 Different Pass Trajectory Zones
there's a difference between reading the play and mirroring the WR. If i'm a DB running and looking at the WR, i'm not going to be breaking at the exact moment the WR does at the exact same type of angle. You either jump the play and break before the WR or you read the WR and break slightly after even if it's half a step after, you aren't going to break at the same time, the same way, the same angle.Comment

Re: NCAA Football 13 Video - No More Psychic DB's, 25 Different Pass Trajectory Zones
theres a noticable difference in those clips, not quite sure how some people cant see it.
My question is with these changes that will make the pass game more realistic, when we get good at this new system, will it be the same thing as last year where it really doesnt matter that much which quarterback we use we can still get the same production?
Has the difference between quarterbacks been changed at all? Because in NCAA 12, there was none.Comment

Re: NCAA Football 13 Video - No More Psychic DB's, 25 Different Pass Trajectory Zones
the differences were in the running throwing motions and the catching. The normal QB throwing motion is still awful, and like i showed in an earlier post it resembles Tim Tebow's throwing motion with the high leg kick as he's throwing almost like a pitcher in baseball when a QB normall lifts their back leg a little bit off the ground on the follow through and even then it stays behind their body. They say psychic DBs are gone and then show a clip where there's psychic DBs.theres a noticable difference in those clips, not quite sure how some people cant see it.

So the differences in that video are not that glaring.
And this is what i meant with the throwing motions, i posted a couple more vids a few pages back but this one shows you that the throwing motion in NCAA looks like a Tim Tebow throwing motion, the one guy you should never base your throwing motion off of considering it's one of things he's most criticized for. Notice Brady's back leg comes off the ground a little bit, Tebow's got the high leg kick which Phil Simms even points out as a negative but yet that's the standard in the NCAA video game.

I wouldn't be surprised if they mo-capped Tebow when he was on the cover a couple years ago but the motion hasn't looked good for a while now.Comment

Re: NCAA Football 13 Video - No More Psychic DB's, 25 Different Pass Trajectory Zones
I feel where you coming from but for me, whether I buy the game day 1 or day 101, I still can't judge the game for myself, based solely on the impressions of others and videos. I am strictly an online player, I don't play offline against the CPU, so to test the game the way I play, requires online access to the game.If you do that, EA still makes their money though.
Trade in credit is a rip-off also.

I am not that concerned with EA's bottom line, I am doing it that way to insure myself from potentially having to keep a $60+ game, I don't enjoy.Comment

Complaining about throwing motions to me is like complaining you don't have different cleats to pick from in an update to the running game. It's mostly cosmetic with few nuances and exceptions, and the much bigger problems that need to be solved exist after the QB releases, not what he looks like while he throws the ball. Unless the affects of different throwing motions are a going to be factored into the pass (length of delivery, limited trajectories for some deliveries) then I don't see the point right now. You'd think if they were updating the passing system they would have finally implemented different throwing motions and allowed us to choose. Instead we get stuck with the ugly Tim Tebow throwing motion.
