If you do not sim any game, and play every game of 162 schedule

Thats how I have always played the show is too play an entire 162 game season. It takes forever and it can get boring at times, despite Show being as great as it is. Any game can get old and boring at times, when you play it tons, but still I tough it out and finish a season.

I have never finished more than 1 season on the show, a lot of real life issues also get in the way that can make a season take forever. I like to know every single stat is mine and that I did not SIM and have some CPU stats.

So i have never got to the point where i get to see what my top rated prospects, since 1 season isnt usually enough time. I do call up and send down people in the minors and have seen players I called up preform outstanding.

I am sure it would be cool to finish a whole season, sign ur draft picks,,free agents etc and start other season. I feel like I might be missing out on some aspects of the show by only ever finishing one season. Its just when a season takes forever and you play 162 games, then do it all over again it takes alot, to do it all over again. I do have a goal and its to win the world series, something I have never done in MLB Show. I have never picked All Star teams, so when i made it to the World Series win the Astros in Show 10 only to lose in 5 games, months of time finishing that 162 game schedule.

My point is I read all the times people that finish several seasons by simming some games or all and playing some. How do you keep the show fresh if you play every game of 162? Who here has done that finish several seasons without simming a single game. I just feel maybe i am missing out on some of the aspects of the show by not playing several seasons.

Re: If you do not sim any game, and play every game of 162 schedule

    09' was my first show.
I passed up buying the next year's title because I loved my Franchise so much. I actually completed 2 1/3 seasons without simming a game. I may even still be playing that game if my PS3 didn't die causing me to lose my save file.

I'm not someone that had done that before.......so it was really just how much I loved the game, and pretty much every game you didn't know what was going to happen. I had varied results from game-to-game and season-to-season.
It probably helps that I'm a huge stat person......so the stats, not just from my guys, but the league and my farm systems every day was probably enough to keep me going.
I'll admit in each season it would get a little tedious, usually about mid-way through until you hit September. Sometimes I wouldn't mind (even hoped) for some minor injuries because then I could bring up a prospect, see how they'd do and get to switch things up a bit.

I literally do the same thing as you. I finish one season, call people up, send people down, etc. But I do not get bored of it at the end. It's still fresh at the end. I have never even made it to the world series. The only reason I don't start another season is because the next installment of The Show comes out and then I have to buy it by the time I complete one season. I am someone who can't play an old game. Mainly because of stadium upgrades, uniforms etc. If The Show installments came out every 2 years, I would most likely finish a season and then do as you said; start season 2 and sign free agents, draft etc. Just not enough time for me to do more than one season.

That's why I back up all my saves to a USB drive once a week. I've heard of that happening before.

I keep 7 new saves on the ps-3 hard-drive; 4 saves from the previous day on the ps-3 hard-drive; and 7 saves on two separate usb flash drives. Better safe than sorry

This is my first show, I Plan to simply play all 162 games along w/ the regular season. In previous titles, I've never completed a full season. I'm excited to see how this will turn out.

Try playing 162 in a future season for once. Do all your managery stuff, make trades, and sim through the entire season, either all at once, or a little at a time (a few weeks of the schedule, stop, etc...). Repeat as many times as you like. Then when you get to an interesting year, preferably one where your prospects are relevant and your veterans aren't dead, start the season and play every game.

i used to do that when i was a teenager, now i manage my time more efficiently and don't worry as much about all the stats being mine, i worry more about my team and multiple championships or building a team up, and you can't build a team in 1 year, you should only go for whole seasons of nfl football, college football, and college basketball, my opinion

I think you should do two chides. One that you play every game abd one to kind of play just GM and sim or play an occasional big game when you get the time. That way you can experience both aspects.

This is what I did last year with The Show 11. In my modern day Yankee Chise I played every single game and lost in game 7 of the ALCS to The Red Sox (sigh).

In my 1987 Yankee chise I simmed a lot of the first year (around 1000 games) and was playing a very active GM role where I reshaped this team at the trade deadline. I took them into year two and I am playing every game now that I have a killer young staff and spring chickens Juan Gonzalez and Edgar Martinez to boot.

This year I will play every game in my modern day Marlins chise. I DL the fictional rosters and am waiting on the 1996 set.

Play anyway you want, mix it up. Whatever gives you the most enjoyment is all that matters. This very well may be the last Show I buy for this gen as having both 11 and 12 and all these great rosters will keep me quite busy for the next 3 years with my baseball gaming addiction.

I think if you have a loaded team, playing the whole season is fun.

Now, if you have to play with a horrible Cubs team like me, it can be more fun to sim the first couple years and play as an active GM.

I may end up trying to play all 162 games someday but id pry need the vita to make that happen.
