When will they show '13 graghics w/ '13 gameplay?

I just dont understand whats the holdup on showing us new player models. If someone can explain this, please elaborate.

I could be wrong, but I think it's because the art is still in a very early stage, so they are using the NCAA 12 stuff still so we can at least see some of the gameplay changes.

Showing early art is not something art departments like to do in game studios. Despite what gamers may say, many will freak out when they see unfinished art work. A perfect example would be how many people got hung up over the Notre Dame helmet color during the gameplay webcast. This was despite the fact that the EA team specifically said not to pay attention to such things. As gamers, we reap what we sow, and we're a bunch of hypocrites.

I would say......E3. From my understanding, the art side of it is already done. The game play side of it however will be tuned constantly all the way to E3 and probably beyond. So as it stands you have 2 separate builds. An art build and a game play build. Near the end of the dev cycle is when they combine the two.

Basically it has been like that for every game.

Think of video games like a movie. You have the acting part of it and you have the special effects part of it. Special effects is always added after the acting part is done right completely.

So the earliest would be at or slightly before E3.

You can tell which builds are which when you see videos. Most of the gameplay videos seem to have graduated players in them, or at least "Fake players that should be graduated on their time with the team."

so if i understand this correctly.... theirs a chance the game looks compleltly different. (sidlines, tackles, animations?)

Maybe a .0001%. That's going way too far to suggest that it will look completely different.

Yeah, I doubt it will be completely different. The only thing that will probably change is just some more polish to the art. The animations seem to already be implemented.

That was my thinking. If they were redoing player models for example, you would think they would mention that during the presentation webcast.

i pray this is true they absolutely need to overhaul player models and builds and make theem fully customizable if i want a 340 lbs qb with toothpick arms and ronald macDonald feet i should be able to do so with any player in the game not that i will but give us all the control please ...also crank up the colors EA players grass and stadiums look like my colorfaded laundry

I believe what you've seen is what you'll get. Maybe a little more gloss & touch but dont expect a huge upgrade.
