Some people on this site crack me up. You complain about stuff EA should do like, passing trajectories and WR's needing to see the ball to catch it, then complain that those things should have already been in the game. If you go watch the webcast and still think this game will be terrible then I don't know how you can be pleased with anything. I have really enjoyed the past two games and 13 looks to be better than either just based on what I've seen. I'm all for giving an opinion but, it seems like some just hate EA and can't even be objective. -
Re: NCAA Football 13 Gameplay Trailer
Thanks, I caught that the second time.
Not a bad feature to add, but I can see issues with it, too, with the game not recognizing a guy as open so his icon isn't lit up and you can't throw to him.
The dropbacks are a good addition, but it's something that can be done manually. I'm just glad that you're not forced into a throw after the drop is complete.
I need to see some unedited gameplay video to get a good feel but from first blush, it didn't look all that different from NCAA 11-12.Currently Playing:

1. You can throw to the receiver at any time, even if his icon is not lit. It lights up to show that he is looking for the ball at that point in his route. Thanks, I caught that the second time.

2. It can be done manually but during plays with a 7 step drop back, receiver routes are actually timed with the qbs drop. This is how it is in real life as well. Those who use the drop backs properly, will most likely get the best results when playing, plus its very sim.
People will complain no matter what, but EA is really bringing it in NCAA. In no way are any of these features arcady. Many are too busy getting worked up about running animations being untouched instead of looking at what EA has done to please the hardcore community this year.Last edited by johnnyg713; 04-18-2012, 12:21 AM.Comment

Re: NCAA Football 13 Gameplay Trailer
Im with you on that man. So far the game looks better. Everyday we give our feedback expecting it to be in the game and when it finally is there are always those who complain about how late its in that game and it should have been in years ago. Each year we want the game to get better and so far it looks that way...I mean really....NCAA Football 13 as of right now is an improvement from NCAA Football 12. I would like to hear reasons as to why its not. Some people on this site crack me up. Re: NCAA Football 13 Gameplay Trailer
Totally respect your opinion. But I refuse to continue to make believe that things are changing, mainly because everytime ea touts a new feature they leave an old one by the wayside or they just end up creating another imbalance, Is it so difficult for them to make changes across the board for once and tackle fundamental issues that have been plaguing the game since the beginning of this gen. why is it that the game is decent only every other year? I am glad that they are finally making changes to the passing game but every thing else still looks mediocre. The animations as a whole are just unacceptable at this point, and while the db awareness is good why isn't there CB and wr interaction yet? What about the line interaction, why does everything still look so unnatural. its been a whole generation and yet the amount of positive change is quite minimal this generation if compared to past generations. Some people on this site crack me up. The hate you are seeing is not hate but frustration and its quite justifyed in my opinion. Every time I play a game of apf2k8 I get upset because it just reminds me that this is how football games should be and yet 5 years later we dont even have half the things that game has. I know its cliche to say but its the truth. I'd love nothing more than for ea to succeed in creating an authentic football game but that doesn't mean that I as a consumer should have to settle for a mediocre product.Comment

Re: NCAA Football 13 Gameplay Trailer
LOL U trying too be funny rgiles? U forgot too put my other part of my sentence in?? It doesnt matter how much they improve passing, without RISK/REWARD it means nothing!!!! Players can bump & gun all over the field like the past 7 years and no penalties are called. Thats no real football and it only proves that EA is catering too the casual/tournament gamers still. I dont want too hear excuses from Ben or Cam, APF2K8 had offensive and defensive penalties for pass interference in and double-team pass blocking and consecutive hit tackles. What about ol/dl interactions and wr/cb interactions? Is that all ben and crew is talking about is the passing improvements too gameplay...please thats a slap in the face too gamers. This generation of football is a wash and EA has ruined it!!!!! Still fundamental are lacking!!!!!Exactly! The passing game is NOT one of the fundamentals of football!
I know everyone is down on the OL/DL blocking, but I did like seeing the LG get driven back in the first sequence. I can't speak for NCAA, but in Madden, typically that block would've been shed at the LOS. It's cool to see the guard get beat but not tossed aside immediately at the snap. (Edit: it's the second sequence showing off the pump fake mechanic)

Same game, different year, new animations, and a fresh coat of new paint. Let's call it NCAA Football 13. SMHComment

Re: NCAA Football 13 Gameplay Trailer
True. I think my frustration when I posted that comes from the fact that we on the forums have screamed for these things for years and they're just now implementing things that should of been in long ago. This generation is ending -- will we have to go back to square one in the future? I don't think they'll have ample time to "perfect" anything that may seem off a bit this generation and we'll be stuck with the 'would of, should of, could of' thoughts. Now I'm not saying I'm not happy for the progress but I feel as though we're being baby fed 'fundamental' features. These things get my attention but they no longer have the 'oh ****' appeal to me. I also get caught up comparing NCAA/Madden to other games that are perfecting the 'little things'. I respect the work they're doing but... I don't know... maybe I'm just a little burnt out when it comes to the Hype Train.
Also, when I say the game is not a first day buy doesn't mean I'm not going to play it -- better believe it'll be a first day rental -- can't take that chance of missing something special.

By the way, I'm totally disappointed that locomotion wasn't perfected. Maybe they covered it and I missed it because I was running around with my twins at that time -- did locomotion get a mention?#WashedGamerComment

As a option guy and more or a run first guy I still dont understand why they havent said that they are going to address the oline for as outside zone and inside zone principles yet that is crictical if you are going to make the game more realistic for running the football everything else looks like improvements except I seen that they have the shovel pass finally in, does that mean you will finally get to do shovel options yet?Comment

Re: NCAA Football 13 Gameplay Trailer
you're ridiculous. If this was a sizzle for 2k College football 2k13 you would be drooling. The fact it says EA is half the reason why it gets most the hate it does.
2k has never made a better football game as EA. 2k5 aka the holy grail was not as good as Madden 2005 (the best football game ever made). If 2k could make a football game like their basketball games sign me up. But they never showed it in the past. Just because they had a halftime show and post game shows doesn't make the gameplay better. And yes I own 2k5 and enjoyed it, but madden 05 was always better. And I do wish 2k had the ability to make a pro or college game because competition is the best for everyone.Comment

I am an offline Dynasty player. After the second patch I just quit playing due to gameplay frustrations. The two features i care about the most were Coaching Carousel and Custom Playbooks; both which directly relate to Dynasty. Since I quit the game so early I never got a chance to dive into Dynasty Mode and thus play around with those two features.
A question to anyone and everyone: How effective was Coaching Carousel and Custom Playbooks after all of the tune-ups and patches? Also, did they ever fix the rosters where 20 years into your Dyansty there were not 8 qb's on the roster and one position playing another position (qb's playing mlb)? In general, was Dynasty Mode playable after all of the patches and tune-ups? I read on this site how both of those features were flawed but did not know if they were fixed post-patch. Everyone's opinion would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.Playbook Gamer - Football Gaming & StrategyComment

Re: NCAA Football 13 Gameplay Trailer
This is where your totally wrong. ALLPRO2K8 was way better than any next gen MADDEN in gameplay. They lacked depth and franchise mode, that what killed that game. Other than that, the gameplay totally surpass MADDENs in almost everyway. Last gen is debatable because of what people like in there football games, both madden05 and nfl2k5 was excellent games, with flaws in both titles. Madden and NCAA lacks fundamentals this gen and after 7 years people are tired of there excuses and want results. Penalties, OL/DL interactions, WR/CB interactions, ESPN presentation...etc.you're ridiculous. If this was a sizzle for 2k College football 2k13 you would be drooling. The fact it says EA is half the reason why it gets most the hate it does.

The list goes on and on, and frankly I don't know how these developers can smile in our faces and act like nothing wrong. These so called (game changers), what game are u playing???? They should be ashamed and sales will be the judge at the end of the day. 3 years there have been a decline, and it might be 4 if they continue in this casual/tournament mentality at EA sports
