The NFL Draft is something that we all get excited over, unless you're a Saints fan. The past few months have given us countless mock drafts and scenarios our favorite teams are looking into. And finally, tomorrow, the draft will kick off and give a new generation of players a chance to prove they belong. But what if teams were drafting for their Madden franchise, and not the real-life counterparts?

Well, Dustin and TD thought about it and decided to make a mock draft of their own by taking a look at how the draft might play out if it were done in Madden 13. This means we aren't picking who we think teams are going to pick, but who they should if the NFL was like Madden NFL 13 and favored the same types of attributes.

Nice writeup, now compare these rookies to the super human Madden generated rookies and you will notice a difference in talent. I hope Floyd's speed will be higher than a 85, his 40 was faster than expected.

this is clearly madden and they clearly dont base madden ratings off of REAL LIFE even though its suppose to be "AUTHENTIC". Its funny to hear people say Andrew Luck doesnt have a strong arm. The fact that Blackmon is in the 90s as far as speed is just a joke. Blackmon is compared to Anquan Boldin and thats one thing Boldin is not… FAST. Floyd is perfect. Just because you have a fast 40 time in shorts and a t shirt doesnt mean you play fast.

Nah, if anything, the Seahawks might trade back, if Luke Keuchly isn't there. To be honest, this doesn't seem like a mock draft at all. You're supposed to be moking an actual draft, not just listing players...

Did you read the basis of the mock? It was if they were drafting players based off Madden ratings, gameplay, utilization, etc.

Mock draft guys! Wow, ease up. I think that many of the picks make a lot of sense especially with the rationale right ups that Dustin and TD analyzed

Justin Blackmon at 95 speed? What? Stephen Hill at 95 speed? What? Stephen Hill was the fastest WR at the draft, and Blackmon is not a speedy WR. Richardson is faster than an 86. Ratings are pretty out of whack.

These all just seem like eyeball ratings. And not of, or based on any scale(which is how I sometimes feel about the way Donny has done ratings, but that's for another discussion). Robert Griffin would probably outrun Justin Blackmon in a footrace, but he's an 86 because that sounds good for a QB.

These all just seem like eyeball ratings.

The problem is that for some players they look like eyeball ratings made by people who haven't even seen them play. The Speed ratings just don't make sense about the board, Richardson at 86 sounds like someone going "Oh yes he's the next RB from Bama, so he'll be a slow power back like Ingram right?", Richardson plays massively faster than Ingram. That's why he's such a great prospect, he got Speed AND Power.

this is the problem with madden ratings....a player who has never played in the nfl before has an awareness rating of 85.....yea get out of town!! that means over a 15 year career he can only improve awareness 14 points???


madden ratings need to realize that players are physically gifted but dont always know the ins and outs of the nfl ....

awareness prior to week 1 of the nfl season for any madden rookie should never be higher than 70....

you can still give them solid physical attributes...

but lowering the awareness really makes them play like rookies and also helps keep the ratings spread out.
