I don't think you're too picky. There should be replay analysis. The replays should be smart, not just look pretty. Break down the play, show me why one team succeeded and one team failed. This is one of my problems I had with what I saw today. Tiburon is always about something looking cool, but it either doesn't make much sense, or it isn't realistic.

Re: Madden 13 Presentation Impressions
I agree they should be breaking down the replay and it looks odd having a replay with no commentary.
We can only hope that "Work in progress" applies here but not likely because I believe the same thing happen last year. Maybe those heading back down to CD can ask about this.Comment

Re: Madden 13 Presentation Impressions
Another problem I have with the replays is please for the life of me EA, bring the gameflow/playcall screen up WHEN we press a button. If I want to watch a replay, LET ME WATCH IT. I can't stand the fact that they try to rush me through games constantly.http://twitter.com/sageinfinite

Re: Madden 13 Presentation Impressions
That looks amazing. I actually felt that I was watching a CBS Broadcast. I just hope I don't have to hear about the Linebackers every time I play Pittsburgh lol. I know it was just a sample, and I guess it was in Play Now mode but it was disappointing to not hear them talk about the AFC North and the rivalry but I guess it was just in Play Now mode and not in Franchise.Comment

Re: Madden 13 Presentation Impressions
From Jon Robinson's article on ESPN
Inside the 5-yard line, Drew Brees sits back in the shotgun and barks signals to his offense, sending tight end Jimmy Graham in motion and setting up one-on-one coverage on the far side of the field. Announcers Phil Simms and Jim Nantz see what’s coming, with Simms telling the audience to watch out for Graham as Brees hikes the ball, then immediately lobs his pass to the far corner, leading his receiver up and away with a perfect strike. Graham leaps up and snags the score before the defender can even turn around to track the spiral heading in his direction.
This is what “Madden 13” is all about, redefining the gameplay thanks to a drastic redesign of the passing game, including everything from the way a quarterback drops back in the pocket, to the trajectory of the pass, to the elimination of psychic defenders who have ruled the cyber fields of “Madden” for years with some of the most incredible (not to mention, completely blind) pass deflections from all over the field.
Add to that the new presentation details, from a full 3D announcers booth featuring Simms and Nantz, not to mention more than 200 new cut scenes and an all-new post-play replay overhaul via wirecam, and you have a “Madden” that’s not only playing a lot better, but the look and audio are also greatly improved. Forget the dead air of “Madden 12,” Sims and Nantz already sounded like they’ve been in the game for years, as the two were able to record lines together for part of the creation process, and were able to ad-lib a lot of their lines depending on the action. The outcome really sounds a lot more natural. The polygonal Nantz even begins every broadcast with his trademark, “Hello, friends.”Comment

Jim and Phil are aware of everything going on in the season. This means they are aware of the placement of your team in the playoff race. They will take note of the type of game you are currently playing, whether it’s a must win game, primetime Monday nighter, a Conference round playoff matchup or the Super Bowl. They will talk throughout the game, banter back and forth and have a memory, to touch back on things that were already discussed.

Re: Madden 13 Presentation Impressions
Yeah, just some game play view that puts me more on the field. The "god view" really diminishes immersion for me and having a more field level game play view, like BackBreakers or the field level view they show during real game broadcasts sometimes, really draws me in.Comment

I agree, a halftime show would be fun about the first time or two and then I'd be skipping it. What would be fantastic though is if they had halftime shows in a dynasty where they showed clips of other important games from around the league. Now that would not be something people would skip and be a very worthwhile addition. But a show where they just show cheerleaders and players walking to the locker room and all that? Cool but not worth the effort IMO.Comment

No, I never played NFL 2K5. I've never been a big football fan. Like I said, maybe if I played a game that had a good halftime show, I'd feel differently but having not, it doesn't sound like something that would be overly interesting for very long.Comment

Re: Madden 13 Presentation Impressions
For me personally I don't care as much about a halftime show as I do a weekly studio show during Franchise mode. They had this in Madden 10 & 11 and scrapped it last year so hopefully when the Franchise info comes out they will show us a new weekly studio show running on the new commentary engine.Comment
