Re: The WAC is done
It would certainly be nice but their schedule generator already struggled last year with custom conferences. I think allowing the complete removal of a conference would introduce too many possible scenarios and cause issues.
That said, I never thought they would give us teh flexibility of adding/removing teams from conferences in the first place so maybe they prove me wrong again.Comment

Re: The WAC is done
There's no way this would be possible. As was stated earlier, the scheduling generator would have a freak-out of epic proportions. It's the reason they let you swap teams between conferences, but not change the number of teams in each conference. They have to keep the basic landscape of college football the same. There's just too many variables for the computer to handle once you start changing the number of teams in conferences, or eliminating conferences all together.
I mean, what if someone made two, 62-team, conferences? How would that conference schedule work?Comment

BTW, thanks for the correction. Being wrong about something is bad enough, being wrong but thinking you're right is worse. lolComment

Re: The WAC is done
I actually didn't know that. I only rented NCAA 12 for a few days and never actually used the feature. I knew you could swap teams, but I didn't think you could change the number of teams in a conference. I still don't think they'll allow you to drop conferences all together due to non-conference scheduling and bowl affiliations, but if they have something that can handle changing the number of teams in a conference, maybe it can handle dissolving conferences.

Haha. No worries. Actually there were some scheduling issues with having conferences below 7 teams. They have some things to work out for sure. I hope, as I stated earlier in the thread, that at the very least if we can't dissolve conferences, we can at least rename them.I bleed Garnet and Gold. In The 'Slim Reaper' We Trust. Re: The WAC is done
Don't see this happening and not because of scheduling. Think of how the business end would react to entire conferences dissolving.
I just don't see it.
Maybe I'm wrong but that is my opinion on why it would not happen. Thanks to LBzrules: So these threads won't be forever lost.

I like the idea, but I don't see how it would work with so many obstacles.Comment

Re: The WAC is done
While I agree that the conferences are probably not fans of dissolving conferences in NCAA 13, I've always thought it was insane that they would care that Little Johnny would dissolve the WAC or even the SEC in his copy of NCAA 13.Chicago Bears

Re: The WAC is done
It's understandable, though regrettable, that they might not let you kill conferences. But not if a conference actually is being killed in the real world. There will be no more WAC, ergo, users need to be able to kill the WAC. If you can't do something to reflect what is actually known to be happening what is the point of the feature?Comment
