    Re: Official Buffalo Bills Thread

Here's an interesting article from TSN re: potentially quality players that didn't get drafted:

If I were The Bills, I'd get Dwight Jones on the horn, pronto...

    Def worth a look, IMHO...

Come to think of it, most (if not all of these guys) would have been a better use of the 7th rounder than the back up kick off prospect...

      Re: Official Buffalo Bills Thread

I give the Bills anywhere from a C+ to a B+ depending on how the picks pan out. A couple of the picks really brought down the grading but perhaps they'll find a use for those guys. It's going to be really interesting to see how some of these guys turn out and how soon they can impact players.

Oh and my cautious optimism about this team has turned into full bloom optimism. Just watch, at some point i'll be crying in frustration midway through this coming season. LOL

SPTO, that's what makes us Bills fan. Perpetually optimistic but waiting for the cold hard reality to punch us in the nuts.

        I love the Bills. Haha

Or just use my method which is being perpetually delusional and predicting them to win the Super Bowl every year. I will be correct one day. Its not like we are the Lions.

That sounds like me during the SB years

I was not in existance in those years sadly. I have only known the underachieving teams of the last decade or so. So I know the Bills as a defensive team rather than an offensive team.

Hopefully this year the defense will look a bit more like the 04-05 teams that were just stacked with performers.

OK guys, apparently Vince Young will be doing a tryout in Buffalo tomorrow. I'm kinda intrigued by this as he'd definitely be an upgrade over Tyler Thigpen. Actually I don't think Vince Young is a bad guy per se but he's lazy as all heck and tends to bail out when things go bad but his skillset is more in line with the offensive gameplan of Gailey than Thigpen if Fitzy happens to get injured.

It's a great low risk/high reward deal if the Bills actually sign him IMO.

He's not better than Tyler Thigpen bc having him means they aren't looking for someone else. I've completely given up on that guy (but I admit I expected it to a point, unfortunately).

Do not want. Had the "pleasure" of watching him in Philly. He's awful. Granted the Eagles hadn't figured it out at that point either, but he looked lost. Like 7 or so INT's in 3 games or something? Ugh.

A year ago I'd have been intrigued. After seeing him up close and personal... PASS. And I don't mean "throw."

Yeah we have no reason to bring him in right now. Thigpen is super awful but perhaps we can find someone else.

                          Re: Official Buffalo Bills Thread

The thing is, Vince never had a true off-season as an Eagle to get comfortable in the offense.

So I could see him play better if he joins a team this season. But his ability as a passer is average at best and I could only see him become successful if he's given more freedom to run (unless his legs are gone).

Also, I looked at his interceptions and 3 of them were not his fault (Mostly tipped balls but even if you cancel those INTs out, 4 tds:6 ints still looks bad).

On the plus side, his funny or die was kind of funny.

                            NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE.

This is a bad idea. He has baggage that we do not need in the locker room. I'm sure a better free agent exists someplace. Heck, I'd rather see Trent or J.P. come play backup than see this guy.

At the very least with a guy like Trent is that we know he can play well in short term. I don't think Vince Young has ever had a good amount of prop short term success.

well he's a better QB than Tim Tebow and you dont need to spend a draft pick on him...

I don't think he has baggage anymore. There was no character concerns with him in Philly. He also sounds very mature when he's conducting interviews these days.

If there's anything good about Vince Young, it is that he's a proven winner. His record as a starter is 31-19. His winning percentage is the 8th highest of all quarterbacks still currently active in the league (only including quarterbacks that have started at least 32 games)
