Tough first month for New Jersey

Even though most people didn't predict New Jersey to be a top team this season they predicted them to be better than what the current standing show. The Devils are currently sitting in 14th place in the eastern conference after a really tough month for them. The problem for the Devils so far has been in all departments really. The offense has been mediocre, the defense has not worked either and the goaltending has been up and down. Luckily only nine games has been played of the season so there is plenty of time for the Devils to improve their game and advance in the standings.

          New Jersey still struggling

The Devils started the month with some nice wins and everyone in New Jersey thought they were going to start climbing in the standings. The fourth game of the month changed all that as the Devils went on a nine game losing streak. Halfway through the month New Jersey got the opportunity to pick up Paul Gaustad off waivers and took it with the hopes of him being able to help turn things around for the Devils. As the month was coming to an end Zubrus was finally back from an injury and New Jersey managed to end the losing streak and win the two last games of the month.

New Jersey lost the division lead, playoff spot in danger?
                    February 2012

Kovy has started to score more goals for New Jersey

After a good run in November and December New Jersey was brought back to reality in February. The month started out great with 3 wins and 1 loss in the first 4 games. New Jersey then went 2-7 in the 9 last games of the month and lost the division lead to the Penguins and the playoff spot might be in danger.
Buffalo are still leading the eastern conference and looks like a team that can go really far this season. In the west Los Angeles remains at the top of the cenference with St.Louis right behind them.

Solid Performance in march, playoff spot secured
                      March 2012

Will Brodeur be number 1 heading in to the playoffs?

The Devils started the month with a 4 game losing streak but ended up going 8-9 this month and secured a playoff spot. The first line ahs continued to perform well for New Jersey and the goaltending are looking better and better. Brodeur and bernier had an even split in starts earlier in the season but Brodeur has been getting more and more starts and looks like number one for New Jersey.

In other news around the league the Capitals has been going really strong and are now in the lead ahead off Buffalo in the east. In the west St.Louis has advaced past Los Angeles and are now in the lead in the west.
