Maybe as a cheap downloadable title, but I think that's what they were going for with that NHL Arcade game.

i would love to see another NHL Arcade title.

the 3 on 3 game would be fine, if they updated it a bit. added 5 guys per team, plus a goalie. had a small 2 or 3 season type franchise mode. basic stats tracked etc.

or, i could just put the NHL 12 on casual, 4 min periods, crank up the checking, shot power, shot accuracy all to max etc.

you know what, to be honest, im going to try the above. bc i obviously cant get enjoyment out of this game sim wise. maybe something like the changes above would make it somewhat fun for me.

But, in my opinion a more arcade style game is needed, something like Rock The Rink, or something like NHL Hitz.

Don`t bother,....it`s even worse crap.

I played a game today against some kid, in vs mode,.....we had to play on his settings,.....pro difficulty,all the noob sliders just jacked,no roster updates,no patches or tuner updates......it was total farking crap.

Rock the Rink was a great game for its time. Basically, it ended up being the precursor to Midway's awesome Hitz series on the next generation of consoles.

EA's 3 on 3 NHL Arcade game, however, was not very good. There were no modes of play other than exhibition games, and they couldn't even be bothered to put in the real NHL teams, despite the fact that EA owns the league license. The game felt like it belonged on cell phones, not a real console.

Amazingly, 3 on 3 NHL Arcade sold pretty well, despite the minimal effort that was put into making it.

It currently sits at #118 out of 476 games on XBLA, putting it around the same level of sales as Pac Man CE, Super Meat Boy, NBA Jam, Torchlight, Bastion, et al.

I'm surprised EA hasn't put out another one since the first one sold relatively well.
