Sportsconnect shutting down early this year?

I heard a rumor on a different baseball site that SportsConnect always gets shut down somewhat early so we cannot get roster updates any more, but rumor has it that sportsconnect may get shut down even earlier this year because of some type of contractual issue.

When does SportsConnect typically get shut down for the year? I want to make sure I get my final roster update before the sportsconnect feature is shut down. I'm sure it won't be shut down till' after the summer ends anyway, but just thought I'd try to figure out when it typically gets shut down, that way I can be looking for my final updates as it gets closer.

I'm just curious, how early do you mean? Like before the season even ends? What benefit would come from a contractual agreement that would require the online feature of a sports video game to shutdown before the end of the season?

I think the "rumor" you heard was just that, a rumor. I'm sure you'll be able to get the final roster update of the season.

I thought SportsConnect got shut down several weeks before the season ended, every year THE SHOW comes out. Like, just after Christmas? I figured it would either get shut down in about the same fashion, or earlier. Heck, I wouldn't complain a bit if the server was left up until the final day of the season.

The servers stay up at least until the next iteration is out. You've been misinformed my friend.

Well thanks, I truly hope you are right. My cousin is waiting to get the latest game until about a week before the servers get shut down so he can get the came at a lower price than it is now, and still have updated rosters, that way he can start playing it for next season.

Even if it does get taken down you can just download them online and transfer to your PS3.
