As the years have progressed, the team has become aware that the commentary engine we were using was handcuffing us from a technological standpoint with regards to accomplishing our commentary goals. The first exciting step we made this year was to move away from our old commentary engine, and move to an engine that was pioneered by our friends up at EAC. The key advantage to the new system is that it allows our commentary to recognize past events via statistical analysis, and then is able to reference them at any time during the game. In previous years, we were working with a very linear system that was limited to addressing only certain plays from the immediate past.. So they are supposed to be using a new commentary engine, no evidence of it in this video, so maybe this is not showing the new commentary?

Got a little itch of anticipation about this game yesterday looking at some of the updates. It was nowhere near enough to consider buying it, but they at least got me to look.
Then they go and release this gameplay vid and I'm reminded of how big a pile of trash this is.Comment

Steve, why would you post this video brother lol?!! Especially on OS, you HAD to know this **** was going to get railed lol. As soon as I started the video, I said uh oh its a wrap. It does look exactly like 12 man. I hope they're keeping the good **** on ice for now because that really wasn't impressive at all.
Oh, excuse me but I must comment on the players still moving around like mindless androids inbetween plays. I hope they've done something about that. That animation where the players bump into each other and move to the side is not really appealing.Last edited by kingsofthevalley; 05-18-2012, 05:30 AM.Comment

Re: NCAA Football 13 Gameplay Video - Oregon vs. USC - Part 2
if you listen at about the 2:39-40 mark right smack dab in the middle of the home teams opening drive in the first quarter against a bitter conference rival you can hear someone in the crowd go.."whooohooo!!" --and it seemingly echoes throughout the stadium ...this is because the stadium is about as loud as a funeral and you could hear a pin drop...now, for a dev team that is boasting much improved atmosphere and crowd noise ummm not a good sign... i think EA thinks we are all stupid or something i for one am sick and tired of all the fluff they better be holding out on us that all i got to say..but before i go i will say this if that clip shows anything close to the final build of the game that ncaa 13 dev team GOTS TO GO.It's not the dog in the fight, it's the fight in the dog...XBL GT: Godz HittmanComment

Re: NCAA Football 13 Gameplay Video - Oregon vs. USC - Part 2
I think the presentation and atmosphere were done much better on the PS2. I really miss the player movement from the PS2 as well. I don't think we'll ever get real foot planting or a heavier player momentum system as long as the current group of guys is making this game. They just don't want to implement it and I don't believe it's software related. Part of me has thought about buying an old PS2 and NCAA 06 instead.
Last year's game really frustrated me with the super LBs and the super toned down r-stick juke. Those are supposed to be improved and the new recruiting is interesting. I expect the game to be better than last year's which I didn't like. To really push me into buying I want to see the cpu run the spread and run an offense effectively that isn't a pro style offense. The push for everything online also seems that EA doesn't care enough about cpu AI though.
I think many of us could like this game but I don't see anyone saying that NCAA 13 will emulate college football the way the Show does baseball or NBA 2K does basketball.Last edited by rudyjuly2; 05-18-2012, 05:56 AM.Comment

Im sure the Zealots may flame me saying that but watching that video and the new NCAA 13 video there is not a huge leap up in visuals. Am I wrong? Im not saying there is no improvement just not a big one compared to Madden for example.
In regards to the new video it looks exactly the same as last year other than the new updates/ticker.Last edited by merchant1874; 05-18-2012, 06:16 AM.Comment

Crowd sounds SOOOOO much better. Really enjoyed that clip.Comment

I think it looks alot better than last year. I have been playing 12 alot...trying to Washington State built up to get to that BCS Championship game before i get 13. Tough sliders and so far its been two editions of NCAA where I have not made it to the title game so.......anyways the crowd sounds WAY better, the passing looks WAY WAY WAY better, catching animations look alot better. The studio updates are very cool to me since I like to simulate all the Top 25 teams games to see the outcome and stats. I am stoked for this game.Comment

just cancelled my pre-order thru Amazon. I'll rent it for 4 bucks and sim to get my draft classes for Madden.
I hope this game gets crucified in the reviews this year.Comment

Not even the commentary sounds any different at all. Almost word for word from last year and the crowd is still awful. I would have like to see Oregon with the ball to see if they got loud. At least give us what you say you're giving us. That wasn't terrible, it was just so stale.
