I was invited out to Vancouver

I just received an e-mail from the EA Sports communications specialist, and I was invited out to Vancouver for the NHL 13 First Look Event. It is from May 27 to May 29.

I satisfy all of the requirements, except my passport expired. I don't know of any way to get a new one within 3 or 4 days, so it looks like I'll have to turn down the offer

However, it is good to know that they are looking at Operation Sports!

Good stuff, man. I was in a similar position last year, albeit not quite as last minute. I could have paid a boatload for an expedited renewal, but there was still a chance it wouldn't arrive in time.

That's exactly how it is for me. I'd have to pay around $400, and I don't really know if I can trust the website in the first place. This sucks! I really want to go!

Where do you live? If you're in Philly, you can take a high-speed train to DC and get a same-day passport.

I found a few options, but they all cost a whole lot of money to get one quickly.

I wish I could go haha, I live 40 minutes outside of Vancouver. Short car ride for me.

I wish I could have, but I couldn't in time. I sadly had to turn them down. He did say he would let me know of any other opportunities so they could bring me out there.

Hey bud, the situation sucks at the moment, but EA got you as a contact, that means everything. And Next year you're almost garantee to go, I was able to attend 4 times. It's a lot of fun. You know I guarantee it EA will make it up for you!

so were u invited for NHL13? you wrote here in OS, as well in the EA forum about you honest opinion which reflects the sentiments of most of us here. just like to know how EA took it.

no no i'm not apart of the NHL 13, but I'll try to get some content, I just host the community event website. You know I've went 4 years straight which was awesome, maybe they want to give someone else a chance. Some people wanted me to go, but I don't make the decision. All I hope is their guest not to be fan boys. But you got to understandable something about the event.

1) when you go they give you some date when your able to talk about a certain feature
2) The way they ask you to talk about it you can't really criticize it, if it had it's flaws.
3) you are getting a free trip from EA so you try to be nice, because there's a lot of money involve just for that event. People seems to forget
4) During the event the attendees are some will give harsh comments, but you'll likely hear from it.
5) When comes time tor review the game it's free ball, you can be as mean as you can.
5.5) What's the issues these days with a new game, is that some many new things over come the bad one, is that the reviews seems good everywhere. So that's where many of us gets bash for not telling the things how it is.
5.8) What I've decide to do is a month after the release I'll make a second review, and from their will actually know if the game progress by a few details to a totally new feeling.

As for my comments given to EA, I had to say it, because one I wasn't happy with the product, two some gamers don't really have the money to guy games. So is it fair to give everyone an honest point of view. I think so.

Now for an average gamer this is a great game(NHL 12). For a hardcore fellow like me, it's flaws to over come the greatness of this game.

What threw me off in the past was, how this game seems awesome at the event & once it's in stores, it like not the feeling.
