Re: New Gameplay Video Maryland @ Michigan (5/24)
Yea that is what my main fear is for both NCAA13 and Madden13. Is that the AI DBs and Lbers are been dumb down way to much. I really hope this been played on lower level settings. When you put the level settings to AA that the AI D will respond and guard the pass much better then that.Comment

Re: New Gameplay Video Maryland @ Michigan (5/24)
One thing that I noticed in the vid that I didnt like that was in NCAA 12 was the run blocking especially on the Option play. I dont like it because every Olinemen is able to get to the 2nd level WAY TOO easy which leads to big runs.
I think it is programmed that way so the the CPU RBs can have good runs because they wont use their special moves
I can agree with you if the offensive lineman aren't very good, but that's the point of the zone read play. The linebackers have to hold for a second to see who gets the ball and this gives the lineman time to get to them. Usually when the zone read is blown up it's by a defensive lineman shedding his block really quickly or a linebacker shooting the gap.If for any reason you're not completely satisfied, I hate you.Comment

Not impressed. Nothing about it jumped out about it and made me say wow...
With every video they release, the less excited I get.
Well why do I see the same handful of tackle and catch animations over and over again ?
Game play videos are suppose to get people hyped up and excited about the new release. This year, they having the opposite effect.Comment

Re: New Gameplay Video Maryland @ Michigan (5/24)
Looks to me like they fixed a lot of the things I hated about passing. Arrow/post/post-corner routes NEVER worked previously, same with bubble screens, and those are things that are run all the time in real life.
Also, keep in mind that these videos are probably shot on the varsity setting. If you have an issue with the AI, play on a higher difficulty. Personally, I liked what I saw. Hopefully they put dual-numbers in the game this year, but I'm not really expecting much.Comment

Looks fine to me my biggest gripe last year was the LBs and CBs doing super human things and that looks fixed now so I'm happy.Comment

No offense, but we knew weeks ago what gameplay changes they made. Why look for things that you already knew they did not change.Comment

Re: New Gameplay Video Maryland @ Michigan (5/24)
Doubtful. The game is about 6 wks from coming out. I think what you see is what you will get. I happened to pause the video at 10/11 into the montage and saw clipping is still in there. The opposing player's hand was going through the center of vincent smith's (#2 for Michigan) body. I really dont know what to think about this years game.Member of OS since Dec 2002 BKA amaizinblueComment

Re: New Gameplay Video Maryland @ Michigan (5/24)
This video tells me One of Two things:
1. Man coverage will be worthless/Dobule moves will be godly.
or
2. Maryland sucks (I mean Michigans WR's in real life SHOULD be tearing up Marylands)
Im hoping the video is just showing me number 2 and not number1Comment

Re: New Gameplay Video Maryland @ Michigan (5/24)
Just a subjective opinion but the DB play looks pretty good to me. It reminds me a lot of last gen where the awareness they put into the dbs leads to animations that look pretty natural - at least compared to next gen games so far. The WR creating space play happens all the time. To counter, you could shade safeties or play zone or what have you. I'm just hopeful that by jacking up a DB's awareness- they'll respond by having more sound coverage technique, not resort back to cheating with hyper-awareness. I hope that smart DBs will bite less and stay in their coverage assignments. That said, when you have 1:1 against a decent wide out and they run that hard dig/out combo its tough to cover without help period.Comment

Because they said it was tuned & improved and to me, it don't look tuned or improved at all far as OL/DL interaction and tackling animations.Comment

I'm in the same boat as you. All these videos just aren't getting me hyped up for this game. It's all just dissapointing really. Looks just like NCAA 12 for the most part. Im not gonna completely write it off yet without playing it, but it's not looking to well imo.Cleveland Browns Football

Re: New Gameplay Video Maryland @ Michigan (5/24)
I don't like that last pass play (throwing a WR open). The route was supposed to be a Go route, yet the QB throws a corner route to the sideline. How would the WR know the ball was going to be on him that quickly, and how would he just immediately react to that type of change?
To me, that's not realistic and is a play that can be exploited. I'm all for throwing guys open, but it should be part of the designed route combination. You can't call a Go pattern and then decide to throw a slant or corner route and expect the WR to react to that. Throwing a WR open, to me, means you throw the ball before they are open and lead them to a certain spot.
I also didn't like how on the Option Read play that the DE crashed in (that was good), but never changed direction once it was established that the QB had the ball. He should've peeled back and tried to go after the QB instead of just continuing to chase after the RB.Currently Playing:

in fact it's a good thing IMO if they are not psychic in this videos and they don't stop and turn on a dime.....
this tells me if things hold up then you can modify gameplay sliders to boost them up just slightly without losing the realism in pass defense that has been shown so far with players still having to take proper steps or see the ball.
The only thing i'm not sure about is if those videos were Human controlled or CPU controlled plays.
I wish EA would show an extended video exclusively of the AI running a offense (Option Attack).Last edited by Playmakers; 05-24-2012, 01:31 PM.NCAA FOOTBALL 14 ALUMNI LEGENDS CPU vs CPU DYNASTY THREAD

Not impressed. Nothing about it jumped out about it and made me say wow. Tackle animation is the same......OL/DL interaction is the same. Nothing about it says NCAA 13 to me at all. Might as well just call it NCAA 12 with patch #5.
Kind of funny, that diving catch they have in the intro, is the same diving catch they bragged about last year, however I never seen the CPU do it at all
With every video they release, the less excited I get.
I just don't get it. It suppose to be over 400 catches and over 100 tackle animations in this series right ? Well why do I see the same handful of tackle and catch animations over and over again ?
