How important is it to you for players in madden to look like their real counterpart?

Just wondering what the general consensus is on this level of authenticity is.

Also consider I am trying to be impartial here, I do not plan to lead you one way or the other.

I'd say it's pretty important to me. Another important thing that goes along with all the players looking accurate is that the accessories and equipment look accurate. If a guy has a facemask that doesn't look right, for me, it takes away just as much as if he had the wrong stuff.

I'm an art guy, so its important to me. With the body editing tools and equipment options at your(Kane/Tiburon) disposal I expect majority of the players to look pretty damn close to their real life counterparts.

For me game play is king. Graphics are just icing on the cake.

It's not up there to high, especially since it's not anything we've seen done in football before. Just get the fundamentals right & fix up some things in Franchise for me.

doesnt matter much to me as long as its decently close. Meaning if a dude has dreads, he needs to have dreads

Sock/sleeve length doesnt matter much to me. Number text doesnt and accessories dont matter to me. Now it would bother me if they already had the stuff built in the game and didnt put it on my guy but im not bout to start a riot because the devs havent gotten around to building equipment.

Also if the dude is a non important backup I dont care at all if he is messed up

The reason I dont care is cuz you cant see the stuff anyway from the gameplay cam

Just so that we are all on the same page, what I am hearing from some of you is that this image of Peyton Manning doesn't bother you.

Not in the slightest. Graphics are so unimportant to me, Peyton could be wearing a Gary Anderson style one bar facemask, as long as the game is playable, I'm in. CH2k8 has similar player models for almost all players, but the gameplay is tremendous so its easy to overlook.

                  yeah pretty much

idk if thats his facemask but it would slightly bother me but in the end it isnt a big deal. Plus like I said you never see the game from that view

Considering you seethe camera zoomed in on players on the sideline, running out to the huddle at the start of a game, instant replays, touchdown celebrations, you really think you don't see closeups of a player in Madden or on TV?

I've seen this forum in an uproar just over where Tebow does his celebration on the field, but from what some of you say, he needs to be doing his celebration in the correct area on the field but he could be black with dreads with a single bar facemask and I wouldn't care.

I really find this hard to believe.

its not as important to me as say.. nba or baseball games..reason being is that most of the time they are wearing helmets lol so it really is not very important really. Sure the players should have movement like-ness, some what reasonable like-ness in the face but remember that is covered by the helmet most of the time. I would think making sure when the helmet is off that it looks pretty good to the real deal but than again..i just rather have a fun exciting game of football that is fun to play and the atmosphere and presentation is great.

No the Peyton Manning picture points out that this is the games strength, in fact I was playing against the broncos in my Franchis and I was amazed at how much the Manning player looked like him

the only close ups that I actively remember seeing is the camera panning to them between plays.. The rest are a blur and I dont really notice them when I play.

What my brain picks up during play is most def not enough for me to be bothered

It is more important to me that players play like their real life counterparts. The looks are important but nowhere near as important as the players have true differentiation in how they play on the field. Two games I would use as GREAT examples of this are NBA 2k and MLB The Show. Those two games have mastered how to have unique player specific animations to really make each player feel like their real life counterpart.

Thats why I prob feel a different way. If you are in an environment where this is constantly being thrown in your face no matter how you feel at first your thoughts morph into others thoughts....

Im only on here from whenever madden info first comes out-aug. And thats cuz you guys have everything when it comes out and its all in 1 spot
