    Your franchise secret superstars?

After completely tearing the cover off the ball with Justin Smoak the last couple years in franchise mode, I was wondering who your "secret superstars" are in your franchise?

I don't know what it is about Smoak. His attributes aren't all that special yet, but I crush the ball with him. Helps that he's a switch hitter, and I like his batting stance.

    How about you?

    Great thread!!! Love it!!!

    Brett Gardner .308, 2 HR, 22 RBI, 23 SB
Boone Logan 2.20 (ish) ERA. Pitching to a BA below .200 vs. lefties and righties!

Those were off the top of my head, so I'll edit this post later. They've both been beasts!!!!!

Nate McLouth! He hits leadoff in my pirates franchise and is hitting .303 with 2 HR and 7 RBI through mid-May.

I don't know if this counts since all I've really done is run test sims, but for some reason Chode Figgins is good every single time...

Going into my Mets franchise, i had ZERO plans of keeping Lucas Duda around.

That was until he decided to bat .315 with 15 bombs thru the end of June.

Smoak is great for me too! Anytime I pitcher leaves one up I crush it with him...his stance is great too, reminds me of David Wright's.

                Re: Your franchise secret superstars?

I'm like 107 games through my first year with the Red Sox and so far it has to be Rich Hill (I've kept and used him as a Starter).

Doubront and Bard were awful to begin the year. Neither would last long into games so I needed to make some sort of move. Hill was performing best in AAA, so I gave him a chance.
I just hoped he could give 6 decent innings a game and figured he would be a placeholder (at best) until Dice-K was healthy. Well so far he is 6-2 with an Era just under 3. Granted he's feasted on some poor hitting teams....but it's much better than I was getting and he might currently be the best pitcher in my rotation.

Sadly, my anti-secret superstar is probably Pedroia. He's hitting like .245. He's my favorite player IRL, and this is the same thing that happened to me when I really got hooked on MLB the show 09'.....He really sucked for me then too. I hope he has a great year next season, or I'll have to make a very tough decision.

Mitch Moreland consistently kills it for me. I've had no choice but to move him from 8th to 5th in the lineup.

Believe it or not, but Clint Barmes on the pirates. It seems like every time the guy comes up to bat it's a pressure spot, and he almost always comes through.

Strangely I can't seem to hit at all with Cutch.

Right now Logan Morrison is tearing the cover off the ball through the second week of June. .313 16 HR's 47 RBI's. Really having a great season so far.

Anibal Sanchez is 7-4 with a sub 3.00 ERA. He has been a huge surprise in the rotation as he has always flashed great stuff but was always uneven. He has had 4 hard luck losses. He is my best pitcher thus far.

Matt Joyce for me! In the first 3 game series of year, he hit 6 home runs against Yankees! 2 of Sabathia, 2 off Kuroda, and hit 2 in last game of series, with one being a walk off in 10th. He is hitting .324 with 40 homeruns and 100 RBI at trade deadline!

For me...Josh Thole, not only do I hit like .300 with him, but I hit a lot of homeruns with him. He dosen't have great power, but I just hit a lot with him.
