FIFA 12 PC Appreciation thread :)

I thought I would start a thread for the PC appreciation. If your gaming rig is good enough - this is the best way to go about playing FIFA 12. I bought it for the console and quickly dismissed it for PES 12.

Now that I've upgraded my PC, I can truly enjoy the incredible mods from moddingway and soccergaming.

This is the most fun I've had playing a soccer game since PES6. The gameplay mod by Fidel combined with JDs sliders are absolutely incredible.

This is the most fun I've had playing a soccer game since PES6. The gameplay mod by Fidel combined with JDs sliders are absolutely incredible.

I'm using regularcat's gameplay mod available at soccergaming. Best sports gaming experience I've ever had, period. No, not perfect: the lack of fouls are an issue with the game for sure, but raising players' aggression ratings helps noticably and it's good enough for me.

I like regularcat's except that the gameplay is a bit too fast for me still. Fidel's so far is finely balanced and he has several options - I chose 5.1 slow, and it fits my eye.

Interesting input regarding aggression - of course there are times (as fifa does) where it feels it's too easy to pass (even on manual passing) because the lack of pressure - so the increase in aggression would make sense.

What are some of the must have mods in your guy's opinion?

I was really into FIFA 12 on the xbox 360 and had sliders setup really nicely to my liking then my 360 RROD'd on me and I built a computer with gaming in mind. Unfortunately life got a bit busy and I never got into it like I did before my 360 died.

It would be fun to get back into it a bit.

I dont use any of the gameplay mods, but I do use the CONCACAF regional patch. Awesome stuff.

What are some of the gameplay tweaks available?

there are times (as fifa does) where it feels it's too easy to pass (even on manual passing) because the lack of pressure - so the increase in aggression would make sense.

Raising CPU teams' defence aggression tactics setting helps with that immensely. Most of my custom tactics have that set at 80+ for teams. That plus raising players' aggression rating definitely helps with the lack of fouls issue.

I agree with this as well. I am not using any gameply mods at the moment but I also have the Euro Add-On and I know there is a patch somewhere that adds names and kits I believe for all the non-licensed teams.

I beleive Origin has a deal right now for fifa 13 for 39.99 might just order it

Yeah, I was in the similar situation - and honestly playing FIFA on the console is completely different than on the PC. I do stress, make sure your PC can handle the beauty of this game (not to say your gaming rig isn't capable) - because I had tried it well before I upgraded, and I hated every minute of it.

The best patch I will recommend are these two:

1. Zlatan87's "Superpatch 2.0"
- comes with a selector and completely up to date graphics, such as adboards, balls, tv broadcast, roster update, gameplay update ...basically the works.

2. Fidel's gameplay thread
- includes all the modifications the "doctor" has completed. I am currently using evolution AI/DB v 2.0 slow version.

Do you have an Origin copy? I wasn't able to get my game to launch after installing any mods. Any help would be appreciated! BTW, this was when the game first came out. I'd like some adboards. If you know how to make the Origin version work with mods, I'd be terribly happy!

Good to see you too I am not sure if I will hold off or not. I will probably end up with both games again like i have the last few years. I am debating getting both of them on the PC because of the mods but we'll see

I am excited to see what Madden and NHL have to offer as wel but honestly I don't know why both getting other sports games because all i end up is playing the soccer games

I have the Origin version. Fidel's mods do seem to create a conflict where the game won't launch at times, but will only crash back to the desktop. Not sure which mod is responsible, I use his Faststart and his No Crowd mods.

Best thing is to start with a clean install. Then install one mod at a time, testing to make sure the game starts up afterwards. If it does, copy and save the entire FIFA 12 folder - files and all - and store it somewhere. Then install another mod, regenerate, and see if the game still starts up. If not, you can easily delete the FIFA 12 folder, then copy and paste the previous folder that worked for you. I find it makes things simpler and quicker when installing and testing mods.

I could never get DBM 12 working on my PC. I have Windows 64 bit and I'm thinking it conflicts with the program. CM 12 works though, players can be edited using that tool.

I almost gave up on trying any patches or mods because my game kept on crashing. What finally fixed it for me, is a clean install and do not install the official EA update that origin tries to install at the end of the installation. Just cancel it after it downloads it and hopefully you'll be good to go.

Good advice, I never did update mine and I bought the game the same week it came out. Whenever I play FIFA, I shut off my internet connection so that Origin can't link up with the EA server.
