Re: Madden NFL 13 Infinity Engine Hands-On Preview
So from what I gather...
The Good.
- The Infinitely engine is the real deal.
- Defensive plays well with this engine.
The Bad.
- No PI calls still even with this new engine.
- Sounds like the OL/DL doesn't react to RTP since he said they need the 400 animations like the catching got this year.
still seems like a purchase this year for me.Comment

Maybe someone can tweet somebody down at E3 to see if sliders are available in the E3 build, to see what happens with DPI turned up to 100.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 13 Infinity Engine Hands-On Preview
We knew that a few months ago. It was stated they were tuned, not over hauled back in April. They have a new person working with the OL, former NFL player, Clint Oldenburg, he even said in one of the webcast, tuned, not overhauled.Last edited by roadman; 06-05-2012, 03:17 PM.Comment

Case has obviously played the game more recently than I have. I'd just be really surprised if PI was called with consistency outside of players user catching/defending.Comment

I believe EA stated OL/DL play wasn't included in the Infinity Engine this year, as they didn't have time.
Obviously the IE isn't going to be a magical cure-all for Madden, but it is a definite huge step in the right direction. Sounds like with Year 1 we will see a lot of good and some bad, but I'm OK with that. I'll gladly support the game for at least trying something it seemed very hesitant to do in the past and that is adapt and change.Currently Playing:

Re: Madden NFL 13 Infinity Engine Hands-On Preview
I could have sworn some other guys that went back said the same thing about DPI calls working too. Would love to get a clarification on how high the slider was turned up, if at all at the last CE and now at E3.Comment

Yeah, that's what I was thinking in regard to the other guys having played the game with the Infinity engine but you didn't, right?

That said, it's more than just physics that play into the lack of PI. It has to be AI/logic involved too. The AI has to recognize that they're out of position on a certain play, and/or have logic that tells them to make contact before the ball gets there. I don't think we're there yet.
I can be proven wrong, but I'd be highly surprised if PI's trigger without user intervention.Comment

AHHHHHH Man no DPI/OPI or double- team pass blocking? MMMMMMMM....I hope they can make up for this in other areas, because it's going too be a hard sale for me now.Comment

The Infinity Engine has the potential for some epic touchdown/pylon dives a la Reggie Bush.Comment
