Mike Matheny- wait, what?

I know that due to licensing, the game uses "Mitch Mathieson" in place of Cardinals manager Mike Matheny. However, during an exhibition game today, when the game showed a close-up of him, Vasgerian said "Mike Matheny here" and proceeded to detail his career as a catcher. How is this possible, if the game can't even use "Mike Matheny" as the in-game manager?

Didnt they update the Mangers last year like Kirk Gibson or Don Mattingly?

No, it looked the same as it usually does. I was using the OSFM Roster, but it can't change what Vasgerian says.

They did, but in every other instance it still says "Mitch Mathieson", and Matt V. still just says "the Cardinals manager" when referring to him.

Understood, I'm just curious whether or not it did that because they expected to edit Matheny in a patch or roster update (however they do it).

OR, you had a better weekend with your friends than you thought you did and youre hallucinating.... either way, Im still curious if he has been edited yet in the new updates.

He hasn't been updated anywhere else, which is what makes it weird. Vasgerian's comment is the only time I've seen him referred to as Mike Matheny. My PS3 internet is screwy, so I can't say if it's been completely fixed in the updates. (Also, If what you said is true, it would explain why I can't remember a thing 'bout my weekend ).

The June 4th rosters still have Mitch Mathison. No coaching updates at all.

Well, hopefully Vasgerian's remark is a hint that it'll be changed soon. I just don't know why SECA couldn't have waited till the update to put the vocal clip in.

Honestly, if in fact you did hear it correctly, it was probably added by mistake.

I'm pretty sure I heard it correctly, he talked about how he was the youngest manager in the majors, and how he used to be a "fine catcher". I guess it just shows how lazy SECA is when it comes to commentary (if they could make the commentary half decent, the game would be pretty close to perfect).

Same thing happened in an exhibition game with me. He used the same quote too with him being the youngest manager and all.

Just be careful what you say.
They dont take too kindly to being called lazy.

Im not sure lazy is the word anyway.
Creating these games takes ALOT of hard work and every once in a while a mistake slips through the cracks.

That has become very evident with the types of patches this year.

While I do agree that the commentary needs a complete overhaul, I wouldnt say they are lazy in that department. Most likely the 3 they have in the booth are under contract and there isnt much they can do as far as replacing them.

I for one would be willing to dump DD and use those resources and money to get better commentary.
It has gotten better but if I hear one more time that a bench player who gets maybe 2 ABs a week is leading the league in all 3 triple crown categories... Im gonna scream!
