Why doesn't FIFA have Ian Darke as an announcer?

I think he would be a great edition to the game. He does all the big games between regular season matches and the World Cups and the Euro. Anyone else agree??

The trick is that FIFA sells more copies internationally than it does in the US, so from a majority perspective Martin Tyler is more recognizable than Ian Darke, who only does coverage for the US now.

Yea that's true. But they could also have Ian Darke. Don't they already have 2 sets of announcers?

I enjoyed the inclusion of "Cup" commentary vs. regular commentary in FIFA 12 this year. But really, I think you have to shut it off after a certain number of games anyway....all sports commentary gets too repetitive.

Can't stand Ian Darke personally. He has grown into that ESPN announcer that gets way too dramatic about every little happening on the field. Sometimes he forces it way too much - and I always find it funny when Mac (Steve McMannaman) just brushes it off because it's never THAT big of a deal.

I love Ian Darke and wish he would cover every game in FIFA. That would be awesome.

I didn't know Gus Johnson did MLS games. He is awesome. Too bad they couldn't make better use of him in Madden.

They already have two different English commentators, Martin Tyler and Clive Tyldesley, both who are better known. They also stuck to football, but until he signed with ESPN Darke was known more for commentating on Boxing. Since there are at least 15 other commentators in different languages I don't see EA adding a third English speaker.

Maybe my claim was too broad sweeping as I haven't played it. I'll keep it in mind.

Might also have to do with the fact that I enjoy music as background for sports...I'm quick to pull the trigger on my own soundtrack.
