4 Verts is without a doubt easier this year. It might just be the difficulty but being able to put touch on the passes as well as the LBs not jumping 10 feet in the air allow you to put it in right over the LB in front of the Safety.

I LOVE this demo.
I can't stop playing it, went from playing it last year on PS3 to 360 this year and it's a big difference, unless the game really is that much better.
And no, I'm not some EA fan boy fluffing the game up...hell, the game isn't an every year buy for me (like Madden, meh), but this year...yeah I'm thinking this game will be on my doorstep on release day.
The Heisman challenge thing is awesome, and the game just feels better and looks better to me this year. Definitely not a "NCAA Football 12.5".
July 10th can't come fast enough.Comment

Am I the only one who has yet to see the score ticker at the bottom of the screen? Played three games, and have yet to see it.Comment

Something unfortunate during a game when I was LSU against Alabama. Alabama ran a fake punt run on 4th and 15+. Now, it only happened once so far but I hope this doesn't happen a lot.--
Have you ever wanted to coach or play basketball at the next level, but something prevented you from achieving that dream? Fret no more. Ask me about SimWorld Hoops to see how you can create your virtual self, and follow your path from the prep-level to the pros.

Like Dylan asked, are you playing Dynasty? It doesn't show up in "Heisman Mode". It doesn't leave the screen when you're playing a Dynasty.

Seems like passing on the deep ball is too easy. The db's need to put up a fight. I am hoping the sliders do what they r supposed to do this year.Comment

One of the main things I disliked last year: CPU playcall logic. All the plays they chose to run sucked and made playing defense hella easy
With the demo Oregon actually scored once because I committed everyone to the left and they ran right for 30 yards and the TD. Nice to see. LSU also moved the ball and hit open receivers down field. CPU WR's ran some nice routes
I'm impressed with the demo, plus the screens seemed perfect.
I also like the new catching animations. I'm excited.Comment

Well considering the CPU safety in Cover 2 does not continue to play his zone, any deep route is a pretty easy route. The safeties don't seem to acknowledge the widest-deepest rule and they seem to get caught flat footed a lot. I've dropped a ton of vertical, corner and post routes over coverage because no one picks the guy up after he leaves intermediate zones.Comment

I had the same issue. What I discovered while playing around is the ticker doesn't appear if your Xbox (if you have Xbox, don't know about PS3) is set to normal viewing mode. I don't mean it's simply not on screen, I mean it doesn't appear at all, it's gone. It's a widescreen-only feature. You have to set the Xbox to widescreen for it to show up. I have no idea why but apparently EA programmed it that way.Comment

Re: NCAA Football 13 Demo Is Out, Post Your Impressions Here
I generally like the demo. EA seems to have addressed most of the problems last year's game had but left alone the things that worked, which was good. Last year's game was generally very good except for a few major issues. Blocking still could use some work but it's not terrible.
The lighting at the night game (LSU-Bama) seems darker than it should be, distractingly so.
I've had two real issues with the demo, one being it froze on me at one point and the other being the issue I mentioned in the earlier post about the ticker not showing up because I don't have a widescreen TV to set my Xbox to widescreen. I don't understand why EA would think only people with widescreen TVs should be able to get the ticker but if you don't have one you probably aren't going to be able to see it. I know I can't.
I haven't tried the Heisman challenge yet. It seems pretty pointless to me but I'll give it at least one go soon.Last edited by Colonel Reb; 06-10-2012, 03:43 PM.Comment

Re: NCAA Football 13 Demo Is Out, Post Your Impressions Here
Finally played this demo and I'm pleasantly surprised after one game in heisman mode and one in dynasty. for me it played very different from last year right away I noticed how much better touch passes are. I couldn't really figure out the other directional passing stuff hopefully that will come with time, but just being able to put actual touch on passes instead of those rainbow throws is huge. Also I thought OL/DL looked improve still not where it needs to be, but better.
I think I've come full circle I started out being more interested in NCAA then when I heard about bullet time and a few other things I switched over to Madden, but now that we've heard they removed all customization from that game now I'm back on board with NCAA. before the demo I thought no football at all for me this year, I love to be wrong sometimes.
One big negative I still have to throw out though is not including teambuilder teams into the update/ticker package. that just ruins both features for me which look really good otherwise. I mean I get to see the FCS Southwest score but not the other teams in my own conference? really?Comment
